Which Mulberry bags have you kept or can't you part with & why

I downsized to half... had about 24 bags total and now have 12. Out of these, 8 are Mulberry (see above).

A few I kept because I would get next to nothing for them if I sold them, e.g. my much-used denim Tillie and large PS1. I put Tillie through the washing machine and am now using her again. Totally worry free.

I use and love most of my bags, and since I have fewer I even rotate them more, which is weird. I've decided to use and enjoy all of them (I don't baby my bags at all).

Having said that, a few are more "special occasion" (parties, weddings, etc.) like my diamond sparkle Lily. And I am keeping 2 (the OS Oak and Petticoat Alexas, plus a part-time Balenciaga), almost brand new, in their dust bags - only to come out when I retire a bag currently in rotation. I've been good about keeping them away for the future, when I will feel I have a new bag :)

Hope this helps! Good luck with downsizing. I feel much better for having fewer bags, and want to get down to a maximum of 10 in the near future.

Can we have a photo of that diamond sparkle lily please? Sounds amazing!!!

Loving this thread. I'm in the middle of reassessing my collection. Just moved on a few and considering moving on some more. Don't even know how many I have (some are at Mulberry hospital at the moment). I'm trying to consider whether I can create a capsule handbag collection but to be honest I'm struggling. I love all my bags even those I don't use often. I've decided to start by moving on bags that I have never used or use very rarely (unless they are so beautiful they justify just sniffing!). Anyone got reducing their collection to a fine art and can recommend a good number/range to have?

I think it suits the woman!! I don't think I could get down to 10 bags but once all my bags get used and serve a purpose I am not fussed :-)

Thanks mary79. You've been very helpful. I have a similar amount to what you had (20+) but am going to be brave and aim to get to something like 12. I like the idea of keeping a couple new - something to look forward to! Now the cull begins!! :crybaby:

I will never sell my

2 regular Lily's, poppy red and tiger paque
Oxblood cara
Graphite Bayswater
Black Mabel
Regular and small Del Rey
And when I find my HG medium Lily...it will be a keeper too

I have only 3 Mulberry bags and a wallet. Miss Pickle, Oak Lexy, Oak Bays and Oak zip around wallet are not going anywhere. One fine day I may add a black SDR. Or an oxblood Lexy. A SBS? Not sure. It depends on what shows up on the infamous pre-loved sites. Have to admit that I don't feel much need to add more bags at the moment, because the whole collection is about 20 bags. Also I have to admit am not really looking at Mulberry anymore, but at Chloe and J.W. Hulme.

Just realised I forgot to list the ones I'd never part with: Daria - toffee & oxblood, Alexa - oak, conker & chocolate, Mabel - Red & black, Oak bayswater, aubergine bayswater shoulder, deer brown del rey, nightshade tillie and my lilies (regular - grass green and Heather. Medium - midnight, mole grey & bright red).

Hmm.

I do not resell.

So, have all bags bought. And will use them.

Until they feel unusable.

Or until my dog, named Mulberry, is gone.

This will be awhile.

He seems immortal & very full of energy. ;)

And inspired me to try brand.

Bag used least but kept as hg=

Tricolor primrose (oxblood, poppy red, oak calf)

I loved it beyond reason when introduced. And still do.

No, new coca stuff not for me.

Am not fan of h birkin or celine wings--if wanted those, would buy those.

Do not look to mulb for French imitations. Expect British originality & quality.

You have so pretty Mulberry bags, I would not allow you to sell them! [emoji1]
You have to use poor Primrose more.
And long live Mulberry dog!

Loving this thread.

I will never part with my first Mulberry bag, a black Somerset Hobo. Perhaps it's too used to sell anyway but nonetheless it's just wonderful - like an old friend. She's still super functional and (to me) she is the perfect bag.

I also love, love, love my Small Del Rey in Black Glossy Goat (what a beauty - and my first Mulberry gift from my DH - and so easy to use). And I adore my Poppy Red Lily (so special, gorgeous colour, perfect for evenings and holidays).

And I have a handful of wonderful Mulberry SLGs that I will never ever part with: my favourites are my Multi-zip Pouch in Mulberry Pink and my Tree Zip Around purse. I couldn't live without either.

I've sold (or am selling) EVERYTHING else. Even the ones which are barely worth anything. Even the bags that were in my collection before I even came to Mulberry (some Anya Hindmarch, Coach, etc). It's been extraordinarily cathartic getting back to the bare minimum again (and has generated quite a bit of cash in the process).

Yes, PLEASE can we have a photo of your diamond sparkle Lily Mary79! I'm almost too afraid to ask as it might become another H.G. bag for me like Mulberrygal's Electric Blue Ostrich Bays, that, and a very rare grey suede small bays buckle! Oh and a midnight reg Lily with gems that I saw in the reference library the other day, the prettiest of Lily bags and now I would imagine as rare as hens teeth!
