Enjoy Sophie shohet on occasion.
I find Audrey Coyne to have unique ideas, but I just don't think she dresses well for her height/size. The clothes (coats & jackets especially) seem to overwhelm her frame.
Also I'm just not a capsule kind of person, I need variety so I don't get bored. Lol
But even with craft vlogs, all the crafters say oh I only use this because I like it. Do you like it enough to buy it? Or do you like it because it's free?
Can you show a cheaper but good alternative for us crafters who actually pay for our stuff? (Telling me to use what I already have isn't always helpful)
Sometimes getting the more expensive one does make sense quality wise in the long run, so explain that too.
But nope it's just- here's my latest favorite craft item that I love love love. (Go to look, 50 bucks for some crap, never mind then).

I just found this thread and love it! I'm also a fan of Sophie Shohet, The Geek is Chic, Isabelle's Style and Emma Anders. I'm 49 and not slim, so I relate to the comment about most influencers being under 38 and not wearing above a size 6. I almost want to start my own YouTube channel just to offer that perspective - yet I feel I'm more in need of the advice than in a place to give it. For YouTubers closer to my age, I like Have Louis Will Travel and Busbee Style. They're still younger than me, but I relate to them most.

Others I enjoy - Justine Leconte officiel, Audrey Coyne and Kelly Jane.
agreed with everything you mentioned

I like Sophie as well. I'm trying to find someone who does lipstick reviews [trying it on the lips and not just swatches] without any music in the background -- if anyone watches someone who does this let me know : )
Hot and Flashy (on YouTube) has done a lot of lipstick reviews, she does them often. I like her reviews because she normally wears a lipstick all day, even eating lunch during that time, then shares how it performed by the end of the day.

Oh that’s cool!
I just find I’m not wearing lipstick as much as usual, even chapstick (because of upper lip sweat), due to wearing masks

I´m more of an instagram person. So while I follow a few on youtube like Justine Leconte ( I´m French and I love her advice and knwoledge) I´m mostly on instagram : Leonie Hanne, Grece Ghanem (older woman), Chiara Ferragni (although it has become all about her family), Doina Ciobanu, the frenchies : Sabina Socol, Jeanne Damas, the scandis : pernille tersbaek, Josefine H, Emili sindlev.
Although they get offered stuff/paid for, these are things that fits their style and u can tell when u get to know them.
Some others are a lot more "oh look what I got, this and that..." and there is no clear logic in it.

Also, I also wanted to create my own blog/ insta to represent the over 35 childfree woman with minimalism views...(like not fed by luxury only items constantly on rotation) but more relatable budget. Mix of casual chic.

Kelly Jane does research and I like how she explains the business history of the designers.
I found Kelly Jane on YouTube even before I registered for this site, and I really enjoyed her content. But I just went to pull up her channel on YouTube. All her videos are gone, and her channel says that it has no content. Does anyone know what happened? Did she ever make a video (or post elsewhere), saying that she was deleting?

She had mentioned that she worked in finance. I wonder if her main job had anything to do with her deleting all her content.

I’m so gutted as I loved her videos too!

Hey ladies, just wanted to chime in and share some insight on the other side of the spectrum. :)
I'm an influencer myself (mostly on instagram, blog, less videos on youtube *though I should really make more* LOL) But I will say, many influencers (those I personally know and myself included) are actually very genuine. We stand behind our personal brand and will only endorse things that we personally feel was good for our audience. Most of the time - we come up with negotiation with the brand we are working with, where we test the product first and see if we like it...and then we give an honest review and the brand chooses whether or not they want to proceed for the review to be made public or to even proceed with any content creating work for the brand. Or we may turn down project offers as a whole. (During COVID, I turned down 3-4 offers as I didn't want to post any sponsored content during tough times. I also took a hiatus away because I didn't want to flood social media with just fluff etc)

And another thing - sometimes, we choose to work with brands given their good reputation and test the products out ourselves and then share about it. For example - due to the nature of my work, I do get a lot of different brands mailing me different skincare or beauty items... And I do test them all out and so I'm constantly using different brands. I see it kind of similar to when I'm just a consumer and I buy different things at sephora even if it is the same (same moisturizer or mask etc).

In my opinion, there are many influencers out there who are genuine and those who are so-so. But at the end of the day, brands are paying influencers to really "let their product be seen by more". In marketing - it now takes 5 touches+ before a consumer will recognize or even think about the product. So think of it more as whether you're even interested in the product yourself instead of just taking what an influencer says 100% :D

I have come here specifically to find out why all her videos have been deleted. I found her content really interesting.

Was she the one that talked about luxury companies themselves? (I think she had a Moynat Gabrielle she was really proud of).
