I feel the same way. The only one I follow is Rachel Parcell of Pink Peonies bc I think she is adorable. She’s basically getting paid to breathe at this point.

A lot of sponsored content with her for sure! Feel free to start any threads, would love to chat with you all!

Having said that, I find I really like a fairly new/smaller channel- “The Geek is Chic”. Evelyn, the creator, works in fashion, and enjoys luxury/designer- but with the caveat of making considered decisions based on budget as well as being conscious of environment/consumerism.

I like her videos a lot. Very detailed, honest and informative content. Although my taste and style is different from hers, i do enjoy her videos.

There are few bloggers and youtubers that I follow. I like those that do proper reviews not just 'this is cute or this amazing'. Like others has said before, everything should be taken with a grain of salt.

I guess i am willing to overlook sponsored content as long as not all of the content are sponsored. Although it can get pretty tiring after some time when too many youtubers promote the same thing. A prime example of this is the shoptagr app. I hate shoptagr.

To be honest, most "influencers" giving advice regarding makeup, style, etc. are in need of a makeover. There is one Louis Vuitton You tuber that is frighteningly ugly with drawn on sharpie eyebrows, heavy black liner on her top lid and stringy thin hair giving advice on how to wear makeup....LOL. Most are
narcissists.
Think I know to whom you are referring, and I agree, but in fairness her viewers are constantly telling her how beautiful she is! If you hear it enough you believe it.

What gets me are the purse reviews of some YouTubers, they rave about how excited they are about their new bag, only to see it For Sale on their Instagram months later........

This!!
I feel fatigued just looking at the unboxing videos. So many bags and later most end up being sold. This is why I subscribe only to 7 channels. Most of them are not related to luxury or fashion in anyway.

I’m down to 3, but soon will be two, I feel like a sucker watching when they start hawking their cheap jewelry etc for sale.

What I find difficult to navigate is the distinct lack of women who resemble me in any way. Hardly anyone is over 38 and above a dress size 6 U.S. It’s challenging sorting through fashion, makeup, handbag advice and decide what’s age appropriate. As a woman who’s not completely old yet, I don’t want to look like I’m trying to be 25 again. It is lots of fun though watching many of them rave about a hot new trend to jump on that I’ve seen come and go twice already in my life. The people I watch tend to be fun and funny. They could be talking about handbags made of jello, but if they have a sense of humor, I’m in! On YT I watch Cassie Thorp (super fun gal), Sophie Shohet and Caitlin Pawlowski the most. Would love to hear more suggestions.

For makeup Andreea Ali is fantastic. She’s based in Paris. I love her style and she makes great tutorial videos.
For clothes and bags I chose someone who has a similar style/taste as me to get inspired. I particularly enjoy the IGs of @steffysstyle and yasmin_dxb as well as a few others.
I loved the geek is chic when she started then she began to contradict herself and I realized she’s pushing the brands Dior and Bottega. I love those brands but some of the stuff she’s lately buying are too “trendy” and don’t follow her philosophy of buying mindfully stuff that last a long time.
I watch many youtubers that were mentioned above just for fun but their style is very different than mine so I wouldn’t say they influence me in any way

Although it’s hard to get past her immense wealth, “Mel in Melbourne” is charming, attractive, intelligent and exudes warmth. She has an interesting style, very feminine, and shares prices with every unboxing. Right now she’s the only one I’ve been watching. Once in awhile I watch Leo the Lion and LuxPurseluv. The last one is helpful in finding bargains, but she can’t stop touching her hair - drives me crazy, it’s very distracting, so I stopped watching her!

Beside Peony Lim, I follow Sophie Shonet and the geek is chic. I especially love Sophie's debt related videos. It definitely makes her more relatable so to say. Although I think she doesnt consider herself an influencer. Respect for the fact that someone actually talks about getting debt.

Another luxury youtuber, which I don't actively follow, is Emma Anders. She shops mainly Chanel and Dior. So not my cup of tea, but I like her bubbly personality so i occasionally watch her videos. My personal favourite video of hers is titled "why you should not buy luxury goods".
