Which handbag have you gotten the most compliments on?

I think colour is a big factor in whether people compliment or look at your bag. The bags of mine that turned the most heads have been a Balenciaga Framboise City, a Periwinkle Blue Gerard Darel 24 Heures, an ivory fringed Prada (that I no longer have) and even a lucky Brand multicoloured hobo. Over Xmas it was a MBMJ woollen plaid stripey bag with fuschia lining. I have never been complimented on my black Prada nylons, even though thay are great bags!

It could be they are just jealous...or they don't care and want people to see that they don't care...JMHO

OR,

-because they know it cost $$$$ they dismiss it as something they can't afford to buy anyway,
-they think it's a given that it's a nice bag given how common it is or who designed it,
-they just don't want to compliment someone who seems stuck-up enough as it is or someone who is unapproachable,
-they don't like the bag,
-or they have nice/nicer bags of their own.

i have had recent good comments about my Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Clutch in Coral.

I think it's because it's lesser known? Other designer brands people will just stare without commenting... (dunno if it's meant to be a complimentary stare)

I'm just curious as to which handbags, of your entire collection, do you seem to either get the most verbal compliments on or which ones get the most eye attention?


As for my collection, it seems to be my vintage Chanel tote, the Coccinelles, Sequoias, Francesco Biasias, Jim Thompsons, Plinio Visonas, Icon Shoes Handbags, LV Epi handbags, the Chloes, and various Burberry handbags.

My no-name ones go figure. I wear a lot of my high-end bags and don't really get compliments unless they are coming from SA's.

"Real" people compliment me on my no logo bags the most like J. Crew, boutique, or contemporary brand Nordstrom bags.

I don't feel bad about such things, but how sweet of you to comment. As on any forum, there are multiple threads of the same type. But, it would be nice if the person, who first posted a similar thread, would post the link so that we could read it. I'd love to hear what others commented.

As for bags that get compliments, I also get compliments on lots of my every day bags. But, because of where I live, women are really into bags and therefore also notice the high-end ones. They notice them regardless of their economic bracket. It's just interesting as to which bags people really notice and which ones they don't.
