My Balenciagas get the most compliments but my friends aren't really into bags so I think it's because they're pretty "neutral" (no logos, weird designs, etc)

I had to think about this because since I bought high end bags I haven't gotten one. :s I would have to say it was my "Jano" bag. It's a satchel with long braided straps, glove soft quilted leather, very "chanelesque" looking, gold feet on the bottom and a great snap closure. Now that I think about it, I should start wearing it again!

I get a lot of compliments on my Sak Silverlake and my Makowsky Jakarta.

I have taken to buying my mother a nice purse for xmas every year -- and of the two that I've gotten her for 09 & 08, they get a different response from each gender.

Men seam to adore her $280 Dooney Slouch Hobo (I think they are drawn to the heavy leather straps) whereas women always comment on her $700 Coach satchel.

Hmm.. I think the bag I have gotten most compliments on is my Alexander Wang Coco in black w/brass studs.

But I've gotten compliments when I've worn my purple Michael Kors bag. I believe the style is called Astor Tote, but I'm not sure.
And a few when I've used my LouisVuitton Grey Patchwork Denim Pouchy.

I've gotten more compliments when I carry a colored bag (v. neutral brown or black). MJ Blake in dark plum and Tods T-bag in red have gotten comments.
