Which H bag for laptop?

For a Macbook Air 11" type of laptop, I use: Kelly 35, Bolide 35, Marwari GM, Evelyne PM (though it doesn't close), Garden Party, and Trim II 35.

For a Macbook Pro 13" type of laptop, I use: Marwari 35 (heavy as sh-- and hurts), Bolide 35 (but doesn't close), and Garden Party (best). But really, I grab a Longchamp.

This is great - thx! I guess u do have a point about the longchamp.

I also have concerns about weight of a bag that fits a 30cm laptop. I have a clemence lindy 34 and I swear someone sneaks bricks into my bag during the day. Same for my double sens 45.

Weight is an unfortunate side-effect of the luscious leather ...

Great info, arabesques.
I'd be too worry using my Kelly 35 for something as heavy as a laptop plus other items I'll need. I notice that when carrying heavier content, it puts a strain around the turnlock and surrounding leather. I'm afraid I'll end up damaging the lock or the flap.

Ok ok u all have convinced me against the kelly... I guess I was trying to rationalize a K35 as I wouldn't normally take that size...

I wouldn't put a laptop in a Kelly either, only a tablet - too much strain on the bag's shape. Maybe with a really floopy K35 if I had one. I have been known to throw an 11" or 13" MBP in a Birkin but man that gets heavy and unwieldy. If you have a MB Air you have a little more flexibility.

I use a Longchamp like Arabesques (then can also keep a compartment of workout clothes in it) or I carry a totally separate laptop sleeve with a strap (you can easily get these made to your exact specs). Then I can carry any handbag I want. If I had to have an H bag for laptop I would carry a men's bag.

Great info! I have to admit, I never would have thought of putting a laptop in an Evelyne.

My first thought was Garden Party, followed by Victoria. If OP is willing to go the reseller route, a Paris Bombay would probably work as well.

No not considering reseller though I do like the Paris Bombay. It would have to be big right? I've only seen a small version that wouldn't fit the laptop. Also not in production now right?

My husband was nice enough to check out H on his biz trip and sent me the attached. Does make me think twice about the Victoria. Never appealed to me before...

Anyone know why can't I upload photos from my iPhone?!

QuelleFromage, do u get these custom-made laptop sleeves with straps from online stores? Would be great if U had any recommendations!

Yes, the larger PB is very large! I don't have one, but remember when my SA showed it to me a few years ago. It's large, very east-west, and surprisingly light for a leather-lined bag. Very pretty, too, which you don't always get in a laptop-compatible bag. It is no longer in production, so the only way to get one is via the reseller route. It's tough to find a bag big enough to fit a laptop that can also double as a true handbag. I'll be interested to see what you decide!

A lot of techies get their sleeves from Waterford: http://www.sfbags.com/

You can get just a slim sleeve, different types of straps, pockets if you want, etc. For travel I just detach the strap and slide it in to my carryon (a Longchamp, a Bill Amberg Lotus bag; a travel Kelly or Bolide would work too). Although I am now trying to travel with an iPad instead as its capabilities get better.
If you want something fancier, there are lots of Etsy sellers doing custom laptop sleeves.

A Macbook Air is very thin and light, so I don't have to worry about the weight and strain. Other things are far heavier—like my Ulysses MM!

But I wouldn't put any other kind of laptop in a Kelly; I just imagine it would be painful.

I know you said you wouldn't consider a Birkin but I always put my MacBook air 11" into both Birkin 30" and 35" as well as a Garden Party. When it's in the 30" it's still small enough to take out to after work events so you don't have the large 35" to worry about. You can also consider Double Sens with a purseliner if you want a shoulder carry.

I had a double Sens and it weighed too much carrying a laptop, though it does fit easily. I'd agree that Longchamp Pliage is the lightest and toughest bag to carry and also protects against rain! I find LC bags perfect as work totes and travel bags.My H bags are saved for other occasions.

A B is a bit too high profile ... Though a K prob is too. Also mine are epsom so aren't flexible/too high maintenance in that I'd be concerned about squashing them. Prob different story if i had a togo...

Double sens is a bit too casual and yes would be heavy...

My laptop is work issued and I'm not in the creative industries so it's not a MacBook Air/Pro... Actually I can't even remember what it is. IBM, Lenovo?! Donno. Just know I've got to lug it around...
