I love white gold, because i wear a lot of silvery items and cool-toned clothes (and I can't afford platinum!). I also love rose gold because it's quite exclusive.

Although, I was a special guest at my friend's Indian wedding last month (I wasn't a bridesmaid, but equivalent), and as part of the celebrations I was given a 24ct gld ring, and I absolutely love it. In this wedding there was so much gold and diamond I was literally drooling; the bride got given sooo much. She's really lucky too because she's not Indian (I'm not either), so she got given all this stuff by the groom's family.

One necklace in particular was absolutely to die for and i am not exaggerating. It was 24ct gold, with a row of black jewels leading to a long row of lrg diamonds, and in the very middle was a flower made of diamonds. She wore it to breakfast the next morning and I couldn't stop looking at it.

Sorry if I'm going on, I could talk all day about that wedding.

I was raised on 18-24k yellow gold. My mother loves goind to Dubai and coming back with tons of jewelry for my sisters and I. However when I got older I starteed rebelling and doing the white gold thing, when my mother bought me a diamond ring for my 18th I made sure it was set in 18k white gold, I'm not really a fan on yellow gold anymore. I have a few 18K gold tiffany pieces which I like, but I prefer white gold, platinum or silver these days.

Most of my jewelry is white gold, then yellow then silver. I really think it depends on your skin tone. As a personal preferrence I think white/silve look better on my skin, call me crazy! Wish I could update all my jewelry with Platinum...one day

When I was younger I only wore white gold (or, more accurately, silver!), but since my mid-twenties I seem to have been able to wear either (I think that bluey-white tinge of extreme youth departed and I also first had my hair highlighted, at around that time, too); I still suit white gold slightly better, though.

Thanks again, to everyone who's already voted and/or commented and if you haven't yet, please do! :flowers:

I like both. And yellow gold is making a big comeback this season!

I think it's a shame that colours of gold go in and out of fashion.

Colour trends are fine, in general, as there is generally always something to suit everyone. For example, this Autumn/Winter, blue, red and purple are the three major true colours; so there is something for all skin-tones.

But if only white gold or yellow gold is deemed 'in', where does that leave those who don't suit it? They have to then make the decision to be fashionable, but unattractive, or vice versa - not good!

I say, wear which colour suits you and make your fashion colour statements with the stones you choose.

Please keep voting, everyone! :flowers:

I like any white metal best. 95% of my jewelry is platinum, sterling silver or white gold.

Every once in a while I do get a yellow gold craving and pull out one of my yellow pieces (in fact, I'm wearing one today- a delicate yellow gold chain, with a tiny yellow gold heart pendant that has a coral rose in the middle). There's something very traditional about it that I love. But white metals look best with my skin and with the clothing colors that I like to wear. :smile1:
