Where Do LV Owners Buy Clothes

I used to shop wherever and not worry about brands for clothes, when I was building a wardrobe and needed clothes. These days, however, now that I am more financially comfortable, I exclusively buy more expensive brands for clothes. Not just for quality but also for the fact that I want to be able to resell my clothes to consignment stores, so I at least make some money back. I used to buy several shirts on sale at Gap or old navy, but only wear them a few times or never, and not be able to consign them, even with tags on. I found that I was not being strategic about clothes and was buying because I liked the price more than the actual thing itself on my body, its timelessness, or its versatility to be worn in a professional setting or when I'm running around with kids.

I really like Ralph Lauren sweaters, cardigan, and button downs, and j crew pants (Minnie). But my clothes come from a range of places: Kate spade, Marc by Marc Jacobs, aritzia/Wilfred, talula, roots, Tory burch, Burberry, Michael Kors.

Shoes are the same: a range (Michael kors, Tory, coach, Ted baker, toms, cole haan). Though, I will always walk into a cole haan store.

Having a minimalist approach to clothes helps me invest in expensive clothes though. After moving cross country/continent four times, I decided to reduce my wardrobe to 40 tops/dresses and 15 bottoms. Right now, I'm well under 30 tops/dresses and well under 10 bottoms. But I wear everything in my closet.

Clothing I buy anywhere - I don't discriminate & am always on the sale hunt! I may splurge on bags but I try to splurge on classic, not trends. I LOVE Frye boots but won't buy them unless on sale... my last clothing purchase was from Marshalls. Joes jeans & free people which I love - but again, bought at the Marshalls price, clearance at that. I turn over my clothes much faster than bags, shoes, jewelry... every year bags go to goodwill, so I'm frugal with it unless it's a classic black suit or the like.

My main clothing store is Chico's. Occasionally I shop at J. McLaughlin--and yes I love the sales.

I'm partial to Frye boots, but I have no addiction to shoes. Just buy the shoes I need, generally, and they MUST be on sale.

Handbags are my addiction, and it's a bad one with no cure in sight! That's where my money goes.

I generally buy mid range clothes for the most part with some higher designer pieces like gucci, versace, marni, dior, valentino, missoni, max mara, herve leger, burberry, St. John.... but never full price. I shop mostly online at shop bop, revolve, haute look, nordstrom/ nordstrom rack, neiman marcus/last call, saks/saks off, guilt, yoox, then a little BCBG, J Crew for cardigans mostly, danskin and lululemon for leggings and activewear. I like to find special pieces that work for me rather than worry so much about a trend... I find that I either rarely wear or give away much that I have impulsively bought at target, forever 21, h&m etc. For very casual wear I usually stick with surf shop brands like roxy, rvca, billabong, obey, volcom for t's, hoodies, tanks, bikinis, sun dresses.

I sadly shop exclusively at Zara for clothing. I love I can get some knockoff pieces without the need to spend premium money on luxury clothing. Plus great for shopping for some basics. I occasionally shop in F21 men , TopMan, and H&M too.

If I made more money, I would love to spend occasions to LV RTW, and of course Burberry and other luxury brands! [emoji39][emoji39][emoji39]

Please don't say 'sadly'. It's what you choose and how you take care of it that counts.
In some respects, unless you can buy couture or Savile Row everything else (ready to wear) could be looked upon as 'sadly'.

My go to places for clothes are banana republic and j.crew. For shoes, I love Alexander Wang, Cole Haan, and Tory Burch -- once I find what I like, I'll buy multiple colors of the same shoes or clothes, which helps me keep my shopping in check.

Goodwill or Salval! Usually I find pretty solid clothing while thrifting. If I am not thrifting, I actually really like American Eagle Outfitters. The stretchy legging/jeans are amazing

I think its interesting that everyone has similar mall stores! I tend to reach for my tory burch flats, chanel flats or stuart weitzman boots. Jackets tend to be j crew or burberry all sale, and clothes are banana/jcrew also sale. Like many of you mentioned its hard to justify paying alot for clothes because it all comes down to cost per wear. You can wear your bag everyday, but probably not that jcrew cardigan. :-)

My go to for work clothes are Ann Taylor, and my casual jeans and shirts are NYDJ. I have four Burberry coats which I splurged on. I tend to wear the same type of clothes each day so I don't have a lot of variety in my look! There is a blouse that NYDJ makes that I love (so comfy!) and I own over 20 shirts in the same style but different patterns!

Loft and Banana Republic -simple work and casual clothes and on sale they are a deal and look nice. Cannot spend money on designers bags and clothes. Lol
