I did place an order for something but it was not one of my fav choices as what I wanted disappeared right in front of my eyes!!! 3 of them were taken right before me and the last one was taken by the lady just in front of me!!!!

Really? But im sure your order is as beautiful as the rest. Was there a long queue? The SAs must have been very busy today!

anon00 that's what happened to me when I place my order for my Curry Birkin. Curry wasn't my 1st, 2nd, 3rd.... choice but I really really love it now.

Tks for the "comfort"... I am also hoping that it would be something I will like. At least it is in the same family colour that I am after...

Well, I thought the queue was ok. When I reached Bond Street, there was only 3 pple waiting before me, including the one being served. At Sloane, the queue was longer but they had 2 SAs serving. There were abt 7 pple in front of me including the 2 being served.

When I went last spring there were 2 SA's and at least 20 people in the queue, lucikly I got there within an hour of it being open so I was about half way along the queue. An hour after I left I heard that everything on the list was gone

Hm... today was definitely better than tat. But I think tat might also be due to the fact that both stores opened at the same time so maybe the crowd was split between the 2 places.

I managed to put my name down for one of them.

But I do have a few questions:

What will be the process after putting your name down?

I have heard from one of the SAs that we are not allowed to put the same contact number as the other person in the waitlist as it looks suspicious even though it's a different name. I put my name down and my mum put her name down but what happened was that she put my phone number down as she doesn't live in the UK. Will that be a problem?

Please someone clarify on this.

Thanks ;)

I go there at 10:30 and there was only one person in front of me and one behind. Definitely sounds quieter than last year!

I was amazed that I actually was able to place an order. This has been my first time in 4 years of trying (only spring one as I am always away for the late summer/fall list). I just happened to be in the area running an errand and decided to try my luck. I was actually more excited about actually managing to get on the list than ordering the bag!

:cry::crybaby:I missed it too ladies. I only work 3 days a month so what luck I end up not being able to attend today of all days and I hear that all the reds were at Sloane Street 15 mins away!

Hi

The waiting list opened at Bond Street and Sloane Street yesterday morning and closed by the afternoon. Although the relevant people in the stores know when the list is going to open they are not allowed to announce it until the actual day, so it means if you want to stand a chance of getting something you have to ring every day.

There's usually a queue, with two SAs sitting behind desks, and the items they have are restricted, i.e., only one bag per person (you can't order for anyone else at the same time, the person has to be present), with specific colours and hardware already specified. That means that they don't have all colours, and if they don't have what you're looking for - either because it's not on the list or has already been reserved - you can't order it. It's extremely inflexible in London.

I was at Sloane Street early yesterday and the black Birkins had already gone by the time I got there. A lot of people were asking for colours that weren't available and reluctantly taking a colour that wasn't really what they wanted - just to have one. The fact that there were two SAs and only one list being shared between them also meant you had to make up your mind very quickly - no time to think, otherwise you risked losing a given colour to the client sitting at the other desk. A complete nightmare!

The other thing about the London list is that if you've already placed an order on the Autumn/Winter 2008 list you're not allowed to order again this year until the next list opens in September 2009. If you do they just cancel all your orders - they are very thorough at checking names etc.

Similarly, if you've placed a special order, i.e., for a croc or ostrich etc, you have to wait for your order to arrive before you can can go on the ordinary list again - even if it's 2+ years for croc delivery. It's their way of making it as restrictive as possible.

I was lucky enough to order a 35 Rouge Garance Togo with PH. It wasn't really what I wanted but I'm pleased to have the choice on it, and will see how it looks when it comes in.

The next list will open in September, but my advice would be to try European stores if you can. They seem to have a lot more availability and if you're lucky you literally can pick something off the shelf - that NEVER happens in London.

Hope this helps.
