What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

UO: some Hermes shoes (such as Journey ankle boots, Kichu flats, and Just sneakers) should not have been launched. The design looks cheap and does not seem to align with the notion of H craftsmanship. I doubt these shoes look good with any of the iconic bags or RTW. When I see these shoes at a H boutique I have a feeling I am at a mass market store.

UO2: I wish Hermes stopped being popular among influencers. The number of people who "want an H bag" and have no clue about leathers/craftmanship/history of the brand makes me feel sick and not want to get anything from H for myself. I was watching an influencer on Instagram who was saying they had spent 3 days in a row at Hermes aiming to buy a bag, implying this was a lot of effort. They were offered Constance Clouté bag and another C in exotic leather. They did not even know it was a Constance, just saying "these two".

I can resonate with your comment as to influencers- 😃 but at some point most if not all of us were all newbies and didn’t know anything about H. As I purchase, it’s up to my SA to guide me and impart on me the brand’s heritage. I didn’t know what a Constance or any other bag, less alone the various leathers. I’m still learning as I go.

UO- some shoes are just ugly and unsightly. Some are really really ugly, and now I love them. 😍

I did not mean to come across as rude /arrogant when it comes to judging people for not knowing the brand. For me, it was more about influencers buying coveted bags to highlight their superiority/status not because they liked the brand/design/history etc. (= "i buy it because it is popular and rare").

For sure I didn’t think you did and I did not interpret it any other way. 😃 the influencers are annoying (and I don’t even understand how it’s a career now) as well as those buying simply to post they have an H bag- it really is that “im superior bc I have bag x” Oh well! lol

Clearly. I am not active on sm and follow only those I know. The influencers’ annoyance for me comes from hearing on this sub that they have made H the “I made it brand” just to flip.

Additionally for boots, zipper or GTFO. I love the look of the funk ankle boot but omg give me a side zipper!

lol, I actually think that is not really for a dog. It is too darn cute! But I do have the cutest Frenchie who would appreciate it.

My UO, I will always love and adore Hermes, but I am over it, for me. At least, this season. If the 2025 price hikes are unreasonable for me, I don’t see myself shopping too much more. After 22 seasons of undying fandom, I am seeing redundancy in the collections. I am hopeful for an unexpected special surprise. The hardest part for me is not spending time with my beloved SA, because he is one of my favorite people in the world.

Yaaaas, honey! I don’t know if I would even accept a new QB at this point unless is was SPECTACULAR! I did not see anything new this season that I had to have. Except I did love that hairy bag, strangely attractive to me, depending on price. The one that looks like long blonde hair, definitely an unpopular opinion.

Same, girl, same!! I haven’t tried H shoes because I don’t think I can handle the disappointment. I have bunions and am trying to prevent them from worsening and needing surgery. So…mostly sensible boots and shoes for me 😭. And agree no one has time to be lacing up 6 eyeletsx2! Lol

Unpopular Opinion

The Hermes Spa is overrated and I would never recommend anyone to waste there money using it.

I sent 2 bags that had colour transfer , 1 x Epsom, 1 x swift and neither bag was restored and can still see the colour transfer.

This cost me over £750 and it’s shown me that the Hermes Spa can’t do much except change hardware.

Since that incident, I would never buy a pastel bag again.

My beige Chanel which is over 10 years old has no colour transfer and looks brand new and is used more than Hermes bag.

Disappointed xx

UO: FSH is as overrated as the Mona Lisa is. I’m sure that the SAs are a product of the environment, but I found most to be very cold. I also think that the store is just blah.

I have been at this point for a while. I have enough birkins for sure. I do love my toile alphabet kelly though. The only bags I am interested in are kellys I am very unlikely to get offered -- toile, barenia, picnic, teddy -- the ones that go to the much higher spenders. I will likely continue with shoes or occasional jewelry but like other designers better.
