What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

lol, I actually think that is not really for a dog. It is too darn cute! But I do have the cutest Frenchie who would appreciate it.

My UO, I will always love and adore Hermes, but I am over it, for me. At least, this season. If the 2025 price hikes are unreasonable for me, I don’t see myself shopping too much more. After 22 seasons of undying fandom, I am seeing redundancy in the collections. I am hopeful for an unexpected special surprise. The hardest part for me is not spending time with my beloved SA, because he is one of my favorite people in the world.
I agree the prices have increased rapidly at a rate higher than inflation with no added value in design, quality, selection and the service has generally done down hill in terms of availability and changing policies. There are still bags and household items and rtw I would be happy to have but none I would spend just to pre spend for anymore and lots of other great brands in the rtw category. A cashmere dress I bought a few years ago for $1100 would now be mid four figures. Totally not worth it to me. Prices are skyrocketing but the value isn’t keeping up.

Probably a popular opinion lol ;)
Hermes and Dior rtw used to an enormous deal compared to Chanel a few years ago; now these brands seem to be in the same firmament.

But my UO: there are still useful, well priced items that your SA can find; and whether a jacket or more expensive coat is ‘worth’ it comes down to cost per wear for each individual.

UO: Agree with @haute okole that those of us who are fortunate enough to have experienced lower price points probably have enough, barring something extraordinary.

UO: I think our SAs understand and respect that attitude provided we manage our bag requests accordingly. I have zero issue with my SA or her SM having to provide coveted bags to clients who are less price sensitive and who spend significantly more (than me) . It’s business and I am just grateful for what I do get (we’re all pretty fortunate come to think of it ;)

Not sure whether this opinion is unpopular but, per @880:

whether a jacket or more expensive coat is ‘worth’ it comes down to cost per wear for each individual.
UO: I actually don't think the retail price of an item is relevant at all...cost per wear/use is a much better measure of value. An H item may cost more to purchase initially but will almost certainly last longer and you'll get much more wear out of it than a much cheaper alternative.
My H cashmere sweaters certainly cost more than others that I own, but I wear them more and then continue to look great despite the many wears and thus their cost per wear ends up being much lower. You get what you pay for is an expression for a reason ;)

Probably. My husband still can’t tell the difference lol
You're probably quite lucky... My DH 'speaks' handbag, he recognises most things (H or not) and constantly sends me articles on bags he's read online. There'd be no way to pull the wool over his eyes with prices of anything!!

To stay on topic my UO is I only like bag charms on a B35 (nothing smaller) and then only small ones that don't look like children's toys to me.. so no Labubu dolls, Rodeos etc. Sorry!
(I say this as someone who has a bit of a thing for Jellycat food toys so I am a total hypocrite, but I'm not about to hang my fluffy croissant or tarte au citron on my bag, so no one else needs to know about that! )

I think that the big constance belt buckles are dated and cringe. screaming desperation, notice me, notice me. I much more prefer the understated look of the H pop belts, gamma buckles, or even kelly belts.
That is so true. I somehow stopped using my C24 bag after someone commented that the big H buckle screamed H monogram which is totally unlike H known for its quiet luxury 😔.

After that comment was made, I couldn't 'unsee' the big H buckle.

I like them on the constance bags. just not a fan of the belts. the only person who pulled it off is mary berry:lol:

My latest unpopular opinion is that the Herbag 20 looks like a bag from Longchamp.
There I've said it!
It just looks cheap and basic in those proportions.
And bear in mind although I dont own one I dont mind Longchamp classic holdalls they are durable and being foldable and shower proof and a classic design available in lots of colours at a reasonable price I actually think they're really useful.
he Herbag 20 however like the Mini-Jypsiere is a bit meh.:yucky:

I feel the same about the mini gp

UO: I love to wear my H belts with a LARGE H aaaaand a Constance 24 as a bag charm stacked on my Birkin 30 so that I am non-quiet luxury or whatever judgement you'd like to make bc... well....IDGAF. I bought them years ago and I still love them as much today as the day I bought them. Keep wearing your pop tart... I mean Pop H belts. My belts are actually useful for holding my pants up despite whatever trend you're on. :flowers: :P

UO: some Hermes shoes (such as Journey ankle boots, Kichu flats, and Just sneakers) should not have been launched. The design looks cheap and does not seem to align with the notion of H craftsmanship. I doubt these shoes look good with any of the iconic bags or RTW. When I see these shoes at a H boutique I have a feeling I am at a mass market store.

UO2: I wish Hermes stopped being popular among influencers. The number of people who "want an H bag" and have no clue about leathers/craftmanship/history of the brand makes me feel sick and not want to get anything from H for myself. I was watching an influencer on Instagram who was saying they had spent 3 days in a row at Hermes aiming to buy a bag, implying this was a lot of effort. They were offered Constance Clouté bag and another C in exotic leather. They did not even know it was a Constance, just saying "these two".
