right now I am saving money to buy a kitchen for the house that I just bought.
I so want a marble countertop - which is about 5000 Euro and I still spend too much money on bags, knowing that I might end up with a fake stone countertop

Me too! I couldnt afford the brand new LV bag i wanted. So i opted for a pre-loved, older model.
Talked my husband into a Euro trip (Paris-Swiss-Italy) for our honeymoon instead of the Maldives beach holiday he was eyeing for.
I basically didnt shop for a year so i could by my chanel 2.55 bag 
i had the picture on my phone and wallet and wall and everytime i wanted something i asked myself what i wanted more

The craziest thing i ever done to get the bag i wanted is really control my lunch expenses for 3 months and finally i can sleep with my dream bag.

hahaha I have done the same but for a Cartier piece! Where I live there are no Cartier stores
. He wanted to go to Cartagena for the weekend and I convinced him to go to Bogota instead with the excuse of taking advantage of the long weekend to check on his family that live there and try some trendy restaurants, but the truth was I just wanted to go to Cartier 
and get my JUC.Travelled 2.5 hours by car and then another hour by train to pick up a reserved Celine bag. I live in a rural area so actually doesn't seem that crazy to me but might do to those that live in city.
I have also put bags on credit BUT I do have a rule that I can only do this if I can pay the whole debt with my next pay. If it will take me longer then I resolve to save, which I never do...so I just have to do without

I cashed in all my Amex points when they were on sale and got gift cards. I felt like the coupon lady checking out using all my alternate forms of “payment”
Went through my closet for clothes I hadn't worn and could return. Found an MCM backpack that I hadn't even carried. Returned them all and had enough to get the LV bag I wanted.
