When I was but a child. My mother used to have these beautiful clutches; made in beaded/sequenced fabrics.., The same fabric was used for her dress and shoes...Each evening dress she had came with matching clutch and shoe. I used to sit and stare at her each time she got dressed to go out...This was in the 60's/70's. I was hooked from that time..and when I was a teen she would lend them to me to use. I took after her and studied fashion and by 17 I was well on my way to being obssessed. though My 1st real high end bag(LV), I bought in my mid 20's and never looked back.

When I was 15. My oldest sister was collecting LV's and Chanels and I would accompany her to the LV store in downtown San Francisco. All the SA's knew her there and she was invited to all of their private parties...I was her little designer apprentice? My mom will never forgive her for it, haha. My oldest sister was the person to give me my first Dior Boston bag and LV Pochettes in rainbow monogram at 15..

About five-ish years ago for me when I was given my first $100+ handbag for Christmas - a black Guess bag that I still have and love (though don't wear so much any more) because it's a surprisingly low-key design.

From there, it went to clearance Guess... full price Guess... Mimco... first took the LV plunge a few months ago and I'm looking at going for Balenciaga now. The latter is definitely due to tPF - I'd never even heard of Balenciaga before I came here!

My mom has always had designer bags so I learned at young age. She had LV, Fendi, MCM, Chanel, and Gucci. I used a small Gucci leather cross body purse very young. My 1st bag my mom bought for ME was at about middle school, it was an LV mono pouchette. I still have the bag and it's in great condition! I have a lot of my mom's "vintage" Gucci's and Chanels that I still love and are timeless. Now, we share bags and love going on shopping trips together. Thank you mom for starting me young!

my obsessions began years ago, my mom and her LV is to blamed for this.;)
It started with LV wallet(which was stolen:sad:) and then the tote from Coach, balenciaga weekender, LV speedy, and blablabla:sweatdrop:

All i know is that, this obsession will never stop!!! I love purses and shoes, they are my baby!

When I was 15 years old. I stalked a Liz C. hunter green bag & matching wallet FOREVER! My mom FINALLY broke down and bought me the bag, and a few weeks later I picked up the matching wallet.

I'll NEVER forget the day it was stolen at school, and I'll NEVER forget the girls name either!!!

Carrie Goings...if you're OUT THERE, are you STILL a thief?!

always loved the simple outfit in one dull color, which would just accentuate my figure subtly, BUT shoes, scarf and bag that pop...recently I became obsessed with very expensive bags comparing to my lifestyle and my friends' lifestyle...I often do not even tell them the designer or cost...they just notice that I have very beautiful bags, great leather, soft and amazing designs...I am trying to get out of the addiction, but too late, it became too strong, I can not go back to low quality bags...my bags do not need to have logo, but the leather and workmanship and art of design, I appreciate a lot

example, no one, even Miu Miu lovers, do not recognize my vintage Miu Mius, but you see at first glance that it is a special bag..I love their older buffalo leather bags, wooden frames, boho but unique high quality...love YSL materials and colors, nubuck is amazing, bubbly leather is attracting people to touch..they burst with hidden subtle elegance...Balenciaga twiggy with the softest leather and amazing detailing...luckily I can find on ebay mint condition, or on some sales, so I never pay more than 1/3 of retail...

but what to do now, I saw Ralph Lauren most amazing orangy crocodile extra large Ricky for thousands and thousands of $$$$, well that one..I will enjoy looking at the pic, because, frankly, I would not even have occasion to carry it , but it looks like the finest art work

Even though I constantly borrowed my mom's bags to wear around the house when I was a kid, my true obsession began when I was in the eighth grade, and my mom bought me a Dooney for Christmas (which I didn't even carry anything in except my cash, a compact, my cell and lip gloss for a long time... that is certainly laughable now because I have to have large bags because I am known to tote around everything but the kitchen sink!). I still have it, and the matching wallet in it's dust bag in my closet  (thanks Mom!)

From there I began collecting Dooneys, and not long after moved on to Coach. My obsession for Dooneys has since dwindled a bit, but the Coach obsession is still going strong. Once I started working in NYC and had an apartment above the D&G in SoHo, it really kicked in, and now I'm addicted for life, I think. My favorites are D&G, Prada/Miu Miu, Fendi, Balenciaga, Rebecca Minkoff, Treesje, and Coach. Last year my dad bought me a pair of Christian Louboutins, and of course is now getting blamed as being an enabler from my mother :)

I can honestly say, I've never bought anything from LV... but I'm beginning to think I should break down and get one already... Is it bad that my boyfriend is already trying to ban me from tPF entirely?

I would have to say, it began in Jr. High School. I would sneak and wear my mothers "pocket books" that's what they called them then. I was the only 7th grader carrying a "pocket book" everyone thought I was strange... not so much now! they love my collection.

ssc0619, you're telling me! I am so susceptible to the powers of tPF and its members...all very enabling.. I went from using the site as a referral for different Chanel colors.. initially only wanting 2 Chanel flaps back in June 2009... ended up with 9 Chanel bags by the end of summer....

now I have 8 flaps on my list, 6 Loubies and a fascination with Herve Leger dresses! I have been bitten by tPF bug and I fear that there is no going back, : P.
