What started your bag addiction

About 15 years ago when Dooney & Bourke had their all weather bags, and also with Coach with their now vintage glove tanned bags. Then I started noticing Gucci, Marc Jacobs and LV. I have a few but they're too expensive for me right now, so I'm back to Coach.

I'd have to say only this year. Any bags purchased prior to this year were a necessity. A good college [durable] bag, a good work bag, and one fun bag. Although my mom had lots of designers [which of course I borrow time to time] I was never really hooked.

Until I purchased my very own. Something more than I'd ever thought I'd spend. This summer I bought a Givenchy, a Ferragamo, a Fendi and a Francesco Biasia.

There is a distinct obsession that comes with your every purse purchase. You keep wanting more. :D

When I was 21 I bought a beautiful red Longchamp leather tote with the classic silver toggle - I started to really appreciate beautiful classic bags and I've continued to seek out gorgeous quality bags.

I've always had fun with bags, probably since elementary school. Remember those roundish, wooden-handled bags that had cloth button-on covers that you could change? When I was a little kid, I inadvertently left one at my grandmother's house once, after a visit. I was so distraught in the car on the way home that my mom surprised me with a new one (and a bit of an upgrade!) when we got home. She'd been saving it as a Christmas present, but she made my day that day.

Truth be told, I'm only now getting into higher-end designer bags (still have a lot to learn), and I have yet to purchase anything really super-expensive. I've been into Brighton for a while and own a few of these. But fear not--tPF is quickly becoming an addiction, and I'm excited (and fearful!!) of the possibilities... :p

3 years ago, before that I never want to carry any hand bag. Until I left my house key and car key at my client place ( I carry a brief case only for document) then I seriously think that I need a hand bag, just a small bag non branded and 6 months later I started with a coach and moschino (both I gave it to my niece) then with medium range ones than about 2 years ago I got chanel (5 bags in one year) of course LVs, but I stay away anything monogram. To date I have 20 bags in a span of 2 and a half year plus another 2 that I gave away.

I'm kinda the same way in that I used to not carry a bag at all, (if I could'nt carry it in my pockets, then I did'nt need it). It's amazing how a concept as simple as a purse could change one's life & it's also amazing how fast one can be converted into a bagaholic like myself & many on TPF (wish my budget would catch up with my wish list in these harder times though :p)!

My obsesession for bags began when I was 21 and flying for a major airline. My first designer bag was a Louis Vuitton, bucket bag. Then came the wallet, make-up bags, keychains, and finally the luggage. I was able to fly all over the world shopping. In the last five years, I've gotten away from LV, and I now COLLECT Hermes, Chanel, and Balenciaga. It's a sickness.........but I love it!!!!!!!!!

:tpfrox:

my obsession started this beginning of year when I am not satisfied with the bags in the market right now. I mean the bags are so simple, not adorable, always in black, tan, brown color when I want something bright, cute and different from others. then i search on the internet what bags is suitable for me. Then I found this forum and walla!
