On a gloomy winter afternoon, following a heartwrenching personal experience,I happened to walk past a gorgeous bag in a window display.
One week later it was still there, and the SA kindly hinted they only had 2 in that color.

Well I bought it,and it was the beginning of the end.:p

I was the only kid at church with a handbag when I was 5 :) My idea of pretend play as a kid would always be packing stuff. My parents bought me luggage and duffel bags as birthday presents from the time I was about 8 or 9. I guess you could say I was born this way.

In high school I bought bags at Winners in Canada (like TJ Maxx). My first "better" bag was from Coach or Roots Canada. That got me hooked on quality and real leather.

I got my first Bal because in High School I had bought a bag for $50 from a shoe store (Aldo) that was an imitation of a Bal City. I had no idea it was an imitation of anything as I had no idea what Balenciaga was. It fell apart in no time but I was always looking for a replacement because I loved the style. I freaked when I saw a celeb in a magazine carrying a bag that looked just like my shoe store cheapie; I searched for a description of it and figured out it was a Bal.

I got my Light Olive City at Barney's in San Francisco a couple months later. The rest is history :)

A "so called" friend of mine gave me what was supposed to be a Kate Spade bag. I found out it was a fake and was so mad I swore I'd learn one way or another how to tell the difference between fake and real bags of all designers. I'm trying to learn but it's not easy! At the moment I still stay away from most designer bags unless I get them direct from the retailer.

I got my first leather bag when I was 3 years old. It was a small brown leather with ghw bag that my aunt used to wear. I wore it til it broke 12 years later.

When I was a kid I always admired my mom's Hermes, Dior, Chanel, she had the most gorgeous Dior shoes and she still wears that pair for special occasions.

I got my first Prada high heels (not that high, more like kitty heels but for that age it was whoooooa!) at the age of 7, Chanel bag when I was 15. Gucci bag when I was 17.
I still wear those bags and they are in perfect condition.

I appreciate the lesson my parents taught me - less quantity, more quality.

I traded my coach poppy jean tote for a Lv tote. At the time I was unsure of authenticity. So I did research and found it was fake. Luckily it was a family member of traded with and got it bag. I became obsessed with the history and quality of Lv. And that was 2 years ago. Since then I've only owned two Lv bags but I plan to get more!!

This place did. I found a link to here on a cosmetic forum and pretty quickly was addicted to the board. At first I thought people were insane in spending $1000 on a handbag but I did the same within 6 months.

I went through a long period of unemployment and haven't bought any expensive bags for quite awhile and it looks like it will stay that way for some time into my future. I still enjoy this place, love to looks at what is new, what is popular, plus there are so many forums that don't have anything to do with handbags.

I got my first LV Neverfull as a birthday gift from my mom, then it started. I have never stopped buying ever since. But my first bag is still my favorite, it is very durable and has withstand me through whatever.
