What Other Jewelry Brands Do You Buy/Wear?

i’ve been loving hermes fine jewelry recently, but i’ve mostly heard about it in relation to pre-spend for quota bags which i’m not interested in. any ladies have thoughts about the quality of hermes fine jewelry and if you’d buy it if your goal wasn’t a qb? i’m looking at the rose gold cdc ring and bangle, and the ex libris pendant in particular
If your goal is not a qb, perhaps look at authenticated resale as prices are apparently up to 60% off retail for NIB.

@haute okole looks fabulous in her H jewelry, and perhaps she and others will opine as to quality.

Like others on this thread, I love Bulgari jewelry and the Bulgari Hotel in Paris is one of my favorites. Here is a pic of outfits going to the opening of the Bulgari hotel Rome documentary at NY Morgan Library. I’m wearing the tubogas serpenti (the precursor to the viper) and a Lucea gold necklace (DH bought this for me after 9/11, when Bulgari had an intimate little shop on Madison)

Honestly, buy what you love and will wear @sunnylovesjewelry Don’t let anyone’s biases or presumptions impact your feelings about it. Yes, definitely there are those who buy Hermes jewelry as a pre-spend tactic for a quota bag and then turn around and sell it off. I am sure if you do a search on reseller’s websites like the Fashionphile you would see so many of the Hermes fine jewelry pieces for sale there. But, there are also many of us who genuinely love certain designs from Hermes and buy it to wear it (yes, yes, yes we all know it will count towards QBs but how is it different from buying RTW or shoes or shawls or houseware that one may love and buy but will also count towards QBs?).

I have such a soft corner for their finesse line! I have the finesse pave earrings and pendant in WG and I swear those two pieces get worn much more than any other of my VCA or Cartier pieces! The sparkles are to die for and it’s just quietly elegant, appropriate for any and every occasion. I especially wear it to work multiple times in a week! Ironically, I bought the finesse pendant right after I got a quota bag because I couldn’t stop thinking about it! Not the smartest thing to do for sure but I like to buy what I love and when I want it. And no, I didn’t get a quota bag offer after purchasing the pendant till the following year:biggrin:

I know there are those who believe if you love Hermes jewelry why not just buy it for a fraction of a cost from resellers. To me, I don’t do second-hand anything. Period! Not just because I buy luxury brands for the experience of it but also because with my luck there’s a very good chance I would end up with a dupe! Lol! I am still of a traditional mindset. I like to walk into stores and experience the entire ‘ooh-aah’ moments before buying anything. I am the worst online shopper ever!

Anyway, I don’t know about the quality of other jewelry pieces from Hermes but they sure look pretty and If I wanted a piece badly nothing would stop me honestly!

Predominately, I do like to buy jewelry from brands that specialize in making jewelry but if certain pieces catch my eyes I don’t mind making exceptions!

Looking fabulously chic @880 I love your skirt!

I stick with VCA for branded jewelry. A few Cartier pieces have caught my eye but not at the top of my priority list. I do have a very soft spot for super ideal cut diamonds and that’s a whole other beast. There are brands that generally would not be recognized but I am fine with that. Those who are SUPER anal about their diamonds will appreciate and understand. Others would just think I am CRAZY. :panic: And I’m also a huge fan of antique cut diamonds and the hunt is as much fun as the find. And then jewelry settings and hand forged pieces, another rabbit hole...
Yesss I got few super ideal diamonds from BG in Houston (ER and Studs). Love it! What jewelers do you use for settings and hand forged pieces?

I’ve mostly used Victor Canera when I was doing custom projects. I was addicted to his hand forged platinum settings. The setting for my three stone was Steven Kirsch. I also use WF for my stud settings. They’ve always done an impeccable job. And I have a local jeweler who does miscellaneous resetting and simpler projects.

How about you?

i’m the same as you, i don’t buy preloved just in case it’s a dupe or faked, even if it’s just a small chance. but it’s a bit harder to buy from boutique for hermes jewelry when i know it’s 40~% cheaper secondhand compared to a easy decision for peace of mind compared to maybe a 10% discount on cartier or vca.

I hear ya @sunnylovesjewelry The only way I can justify the insane prices of luxury brands is by using the heck out of those pieces! And if I can’t, they don’t belong in my collection and I re-home or re-gift them.

I’ve wanted a Suzanne Kalan ring for ages now, and Liberty had a summer promo on, so I decided to pull the trigger on the Amalfi Blend Rainbow Half Band ring. I finally have a rainbow piece to add to my collection!

It has 4x2mm baguette-cut citrine, pink topaz and morganite topaz gemstones, 4mm round rhodolite, peridot and iolite gemstones, and 0.08 carats of round white diamonds.

What a wonderful piece! Perfect as a pinky ring. I have never seen Suzanne Kaplan’s jewelry. Thank you for the introduction.

Id like tips to do or not to do. I personally cheated with Cartier the most but I feel I belong here. Other than not finding some of my wish list items which is frustrating. It can be about stones and luster, originality. What other jewelry - from earrings to necklaces are your fave? I probably haven't heard about many worthy ones.
