The Coco Crush bangle with the sprinkling of diamonds is really pretty! At the price point offered, I felt it was worth while to consider pieces from established jewelry houses as well. I still think of Chanel as a fashion house and haven't quite made the leap to fine jewelry. I'm tempted though and the one piece that I'd get first would be the Coco Crush bangle with the sprinkling of diamonds. White gold first, then maybe a thinner one in beige gold. Not there yet though.
I know what you mean about Chanel feeling like a fashion house still. Even with that I feel the coco crush line is a good price point. The pieces look substantial and work with a range of clothing styles - casual to more elegant. I will be adding to my list just trying to decide which.
I think Chanel for their own reasons decided to focus on high jewellery first — I have tried on a number of their high jewellery pieces and also been to a high jewellery event, and I have to say I am very impressed. The design, craftsmanship, and the vision for what they want to present were in my opinion, not inferior to established jewellers like Cartier, Graff, VCA, etc.
It also doesn’t help that their costume jewellery is so well-known and widely marketed, which may discredit their fine jewellery in the eyes of many.
For those contemplating the coco crush bangle, the one issue I would advise to look out for is the inconsistency in how “smoothly” the closure mechanism works. Make sure there are two crisp “click” sounds when you close the bangle: first when you join the two open ends together, and again when you press down the “tab” to secure the closure. My 3 bangles all sound a bit different when I try to close them, which I chalk up to the pieces all being hand made and therefore having some inconsistency due to the skill of the craftsperson. I haven’t had any problems with the bangles falling off or anything, but notice that my pave piece in particular sometimes has the tab part ever so slightly “raised” after a day of wearing. Am thinking I should have Chanel see if they can adjust it.
