I've sent pretty much all my fountain pens off to the nibmeister for nib regrinding, so am left with less used, non-fountain pens. They'll be gone for at least two months, so I've been carrying around my beautiful little Pelikan m405 Stresemann rollerball with a blue refill, along with my also pictured wallet/journal combination in this leather notebook cover. Love the design of this pen, the clip is shaped like a pelican bill!

What are you having them reground to?

What are you having them reground to?

Nothing particularly exciting, just a super smooth XXF, that's so wet it writes like an EF. I have been into mediums and broads the past year-ish, but haven been slowly going back to EFs, and found myself disliking using most of my pens because the lines were too broad. So sent them off to get a nib I know I would use. :)

XF and XFF are some of my favourite nibs! I get why you would opt for those albeit one or two paint brush flexi ones is nice too.

Back in my university days, I switched from mediums to much smaller nibs due to mathematical calculations looking sloppy.

Albeit I would use my mediums for written exams due to the heavier line variation and shading turning the experience a bit more bearable. (MB oyster grey was my pencil substitute ink)

Fingers crossed your pens come back to you with an even faster turn around!

That used to be my dilemma lol. I started out only tolerating XXF and XF nibs, but then developed a love for shading inks which really only looked good in broader nibs. Well, I still love shading inks, but have begun moving back to thinner nibs. I can get the best of both worlds if the nib is a gusher, because it lays down enough ink to show off the properties, but if the nib is thin enough I can still get my smaller line.

Thank you, I'm hoping for a faster turn around, too!

Pelikans tend to be gushers unlike my Sailors haha

I alternate depending on the bag and occasion. My work bag usually has 3 pens: two fps (MB Meisterstuck classique EF and GvFC guilloche F) and a bp. Graf von Faber Castel is one of the most underrated/least talked about brands for writing instruments but is one of my favourites. It has become my daily workhorse. They travel upright stored in their pen case and I have never had any problems with leakage etc. My travel bag has MB bp for my use and several cheap hotel pens to give out (I don’t want them back) if ever asked by a stranger for a pen. My casual day purse and evening going out bags usually doesn’t have any pens.

Beautiful! Pelikan is my favorite (fountain) pen to write with. They write like butter! Is the rollerball the same? I'd love to see writing with your special nibs when you get them back. I've always preferred fine pens too, but with fountain pens, I enjoy medium nibs.
