What kind of pen is in your handbag?

I like the inexpensive gel type pens. I carry one or two but only in my bags that have organizers.
My best and most treasured pen is a burgundy and gold Mont Blanc that my husband bought me for Christmas in 93. It was such a random gift if you know my extremely frugal husband. I believe it was 100. At the time.
I was always afraid I’d lose it so it spent about 20 years in my jewelry box. Several years ago I put it in my makeup bag that goes everywhere with me, full of the little odds and ends I need. I use it occasionally.
My sister and I call it the What the he#* ? pen because it was such a fun yet random gift.
I’m still careful not to lose it.
What a sweet and special gift from your husband! I like gel pens too-they feel similar to writing with a fountain pen to me. Pentel Energel is a favorite, and also Pilot G2. I like that they have refills too.

I find it quite difficult to buy cartridges locally for my Cross silver plated fountain pen, although I can order them from London-I used to buy them in Burlington Arcade, and I need more refills for my matching Cross ballpoint too.
I nearly bought a solid silver one, but I don’t think that would change my writing!
I’d love to try a Pelikan fountain pen as recommended to me by @tealocean ❤️

I used to use Waterman because I loved the colours of their inks..but I don’t have that pen any more..
Are the Cross fountain pen refills proprietary or do they use standard international cartridges? That is something else I love about Pelikan (and Waterman?). They use standard refills. I like to fill the pens with ink from bottles even though I still sometimes get ink on my fingers. Thankfully I like blues that wash off easily. I do have a bottle of Noodler's Baystate Blue that is kind of terrifying to use since it stains everything and ruined one of my pens. I have a dedicated pen for it.

Pilot Precise V5. It's my favorite pen, and has been for years. Affordable, sleek, comfortable to use, never skips or dries out. Nice variety of colors available too. They aren't available in Japan, but I import them from Amazon or stock up when I visit the U.S. Probably have at least 30 right now (Not all in my purses though!).

... I have a Cross Autocross Chrome Toffee leather Mini Stub Ballpoint Pen gifted to me always in my bag .... but since I was gifted a Ferrari de Varese Settelaghi Silver fountain pen, I got hooked on fountain pens :)...but for bag safety, I usually have the pencil case placed inside a ziploc bag :)

IMG_1817.jpg Pale blue Montblanc roller ball. I also keep a couple of refills in my purse. I only bought this pen because it celebrates the 1924 Olympics, the year my father was born, and the color reminded me of one of his favorite Parker pens.
