What Jewelry Are You Wearing Today???

I’ve wanted a diamond halo ring with a diamond cushion centre stone for years (Tiffany Soleste style but bigger than I could ever afford from Tiffany!), but never bought one as they are far too expensive here. Even for a relatively low carat weight you are looking at paying £10k+ with the quality of diamonds I want and ideally I was looking for a ring in the region of 1.50-2 carats in total which would have set me back about £15k if purchased from a jewellery store

I therefore decided to use a jeweller based in Wales who has made some pieces for me in the past at a very reasonable price for the quality of her work and materials used… it arrived today and is even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined - so, so, so happy with it :yahoo:

2 ttcw diamond ring with a GIA certificated 1 carat diamond cushion in the centre, set in platinum

Your ring is beautiful, major congrats!!!
May I kindly ask: do you have an engagement ring on your left hand?
And if so, is this ring bigger?
As I was dreaming of a pear diamond in wg halo and finally got it but since it is bigger than my actual ER, I feel strange using it and might exchange it for an eternity ring. I would love to hear about your experience, many thanks!!

Hiii, can i ask you some things about your tennis necklace from rachie shnay?
How do you find the quality? I am from the Netherlands and find it scary to buy a necklace i have never seen in real life. Could you please share some pictures, maybe also a picture from up close? What carat size do you have? And does this necklace twist? I tried a classic tennis necklace and it twisted a lot:( thank you so much!!

Yes, I am married and normally wear an engagement and/or wedding type ring on my left hand but not the ones I was married with, lol. Luckily my DH doesn’t attach too much importance to me wearing my original rings (or indeed any rings) and so I feel able to mix and match which allows for much more versatility in matching my jewellery to my outfits.

It’s funny you ask this as I was saying to a friend earlier than I could wear this new ring in lieu of a wedding ring on my left hand, which would then enable me to wear some of my other nice rings at the same time!

In terms of the sizes of my existing diamond rings this is certainly the biggest, although I do have two carat full eternity rings in platinum and yellow gold which I sometimes wear as a wedding band. I guess those don’t count though as they are lots of smaller diamonds. My next biggest solitaire with halo type ring is a 0.70 carat pear with surrounding diamonds but that is still smaller than the new cushion ring.

Your pear ring sounds absolutely amazing - I would rock that beauty with pride! Do you like to wear your e-ring all the time? If you don’t mind switching it out sometimes you could always wear the pear on your wedding finger? If you are already married you could also just wear your wedding band on your left hand and then the pear on your right hand? I often do this, wearing a diamond eternity ring on my left hand and a right hand ring which is a bit fancier to look at!

I’m pretty happy with it, I think the clarity and colour are something like SI and H but because the diamonds are so small they sparkle beautifully.

I paid slightly more to have mine made in 18k yellow gold instead of the standard 14k yellow gold as this was a big purchase for me and I prefer my better pieces to be in 18k or platinum.

I went for the 5 carat option in the classic 4 prong and am really glad I didn’t go bigger as for my lifestyle it is perfect for everyday use and I don’t feel too flashy wearing it. It also layers really well with other necklaces.

Unfortunately it does twist sometimes! I think it is hard to get away from this with this type of design. Perhaps going shorter might help? My necklace is 17.5” and it doesn’t twist too much but if I had my time again I would probably go for 17”. I’ve lost quite a lot of weight since I bought it - at the time 17” or shorter would have felt like a choker on me, lol.

My necklace is in the safe but I’ll try and dig out some photos.

Edit: added a couple of photos of me wearing the tennis layered not long after I bought it.

Thank you so much for your quick reply and all these details!!
Well I love my ER and don’t wish to switch it with the pear ring.
Here are some pics of my all my rings worn together, I would be very happy to hear what you think ;)
I will also post a pic of what I was thinking to exchange the pear ring for: an eternity ring with Asher diamonds. Maybe that would compliment my actual set better..
Anyone may give their opinion as well, thank you!

Lol, you don’t want my opinion, I would keep that luscious pear and get the eternity ring too!

On a serious note, all your rings are gorgeous and I don’t think the pear looks out of place at all worn with them. Most people wouldn’t look at both your hands at the same time and/or compare the size/placement of your rings (and if they did that would be weird  ).

Thanks for your message hahaha!
My husband just got me a VCA bracelet.. So I need to choose between the two ;)
My thinking is that with my quite casual everyday style, another eternity ring will blend better.. But it is hard to decide as the pear one I received was kind of my dream ring but I just don’t dare carrying it.. Anyway, thank you again for your posts and carry your amazing ring in the best of health :)

Keep the pear ring! It’s so beautiful and unique!
Who cares what people think? For real. It’s nobody’s business. Your jewelry looks beautiful and that’s the main point of it.
I wear my engagement ring on right hand anyway and I would not switch to the left hand just because I live in a country with left hands engagement rings.

I had a very dainty bracelet with a small diamond that I broke in January (my fault, I carried something heavy and the bracelet was a bit snug). I luckily found it, and had my jeweler repair the chain, make it a little bit longer and double it. It couldn’t be done without adding small ears next to the diamond, but I think it looks ok.
I also bit the bullet and had my MAMA letters soldered together. I bought them separately and tried to make a string bracelet but the letters kept moving. I’m having the bracelet remade tomorrow, and I put it in a chain to wear today.
