Omg no way!! I would be so upset if someone touched my bag without my permission ! I have no idea where your hands have been!If it's a perfect stranger : I simply ignore or pretend not to hear. If they insist, I retort, "what do YOU think" ?? (followed by an eyeroll)
"Is it [your bag] real"?
If it's someone I know : My reply is, "Real????....REAL EXPENSIVE "!!!!
I'm old enough that people don't ask me. I do remember once when I was younger, a woman approached me as I got off an escalator and actually touched my bag to feel the texture. She made some comment about it being "interesting". I later found out she was the new assistant manager at my local LV !!!! Some people have such nerve. I figured she had no clue what a vintage was. Months later when the Murakami Speedy was released, she was sickeningly sweet when I went to to get my MC Speedy and Alma I had waitlisted for. She didn't recognize me, but I remembered her from that incident. Still astounds me to this day....
Well…. - To be honest I have been asked two of those questions! The hair question was just a couple months agoNobody ever asked me this. What next would they ask? Are your boobs real? Is your butt real? Is your hair real?
It’s not anybody’s business and if they ask they have no manners.
So I would just ignore it.
OMG. My husband and I were talking the other day and my first LV bag we bought in Paris DID cost more then my first car.Recently at an airport 2 men were talking in hearing range and said “She Is Carrying More LV Than What I Paid For My First Car”
I have had the same thing happen to me. Not only with my handbags, but people also do this when they see my jewelry. My reply is always the same when someone asks me if something I am wearing is real. I look at them and say, It's really mine. beebeebaggsSo, I was heading into a store carrying my speedy, when a male entering behind me (who to me, seemed to me like someone who wouldn’t be familiar with designer items, although you probably can’t judge a book by its cover!) and he says “woah, nice purse”, I say thank you, and then he asks “is it real?” I’ve never experienced that before, so being off guard I say yes. I felt super uncomfortable, he followed me to the same area but left before me. He was standing outside when I left. Nothing happened, but I am now wondering if I could have potentially been in a dangerous situation?! I realize, I probably should have scoffed and said something like “no” or “ I wish.” Have you ever experienced this, or what would you do?
I get it Lady Sparkle!OMG. My husband and I were talking the other day and my first LV bag we bought in Paris DID cost more then my first car.
I was actually somewhere recently with my LV and this lady started talking about how much it cost, etc, and I just gently steered the conversation elsewhere.
