what is your opinion of emerald-cut diamonds? not sparkly enough?

I love emerald diamonds. The are very elegant and classic!!
Good diamonds don't need go sparkle. If you want sparkle you could get a swarovski crstyal <- Kidding.
I would say go for it, only if its good quality though. I believe if you go for emerald it needs to be very clean.

I just want to share my thoughts...
I ADORE the emerald cut. I have one, as well as a pear and a round.. the emerald is by far my favorite!
It is sooo classy. I love the way I can see the lines in it.. I can get lost just looking into it! It is investment quality, D color, VVS1, just over 1 ct. I disagree that it has to be huge... but it does have to be very clean and white to be effectively beautiful.
And as many said.. it's all in the eye of the beholder, we must go with what we love!

I personally loooove emerald cut diamonds!! I think round cuts are traditional, and emerald cuts are a little more modern and clean. I agree that they should be somewhat on a large size, with good color and clarity, and the setting should be kept as clean as possible. My next ring will be ec.

I chose emerald because it's understated. Esp for big diamonds, I prefer less flash.
