What is your one thing that you absolutely hate about a bag?

Nothing wrong with slouching and breaking in it looks so good on certrain bags, but I don't like if bags don't keep their style when you just use them, like the bending of the top of the d&g sicily.
They couldn't have foreseen it? No? Okay, then they can keep it.
I mean, what is that dumpling?

I get what you mean.. Its a design flaw.. for flap bags I always make sure the bag handles are attached to the actual body of the bag, not just attached to the flap...
The bag shape is bound to get distorted into dumpling :biggrin:especially if its a larger, heavy bag.

I don’t like:
1. hobos that have short handles and/or are too fat so they don’t lie comfortably against you.
2. When I can’t tell whether something is black or dark navy/brown etc.
3. visible zips- I like a bit of cover on the top zip and NO front zip pockets
4. Not enough room for a continental Wallet, phone and keys
5. Hardware discolouration
6. Mixed metals hardware
7. Nothing too heavy as it just puts you off.

Good point, I also don't like when I can't tell the color. If I have to look up what color it is, the color is too dark or odd and won't ever match things well. I should at least be able to tell what color family it's in.

Great thread.
* Logos all over
* Clanky hardware, especially the coated stuff that turns sort of copper
* Dangly bits - tassels, chains etc etc
* Edgecote - eurgh
* Flimsy nylon type lining
* Sloppy straps, but you generally can't tell that before buying
Seem to be a lot of common themes on this thread, actually ...
What is Edgecote? Is that the coating on the seams?

I enjoyed reading this- thank you every one for such fun posts. I confess to being a total bag victim and love all sorts… just out of necessity I limit myself and don’t buy anything that’s:
heavy even when empty ( sadly that rules out many higher quality bags)
Hobos ( the way I dress just doesn’t complement unstructured bags)
Open totes ( though I use those as ‘secondary’ bag)
Prominent hardware/logos

Too many pockets! A ton of these may be OK with people who don’t change bags very often (or, gasp EVER like a couple ladies I know), but I change at least every couple of days and really just want to plunk my organizer from one bag to another. An interior zipper pocket is good for my wallet, and maybe another one inside or outside, depending on the bag, for my phone, but otherwise I don’t need or want bag pockets.
