What is your one thing that you absolutely hate about a bag?

I have two things. Bags without feet and bags that have both the hand carry and crossbody options but the handles for hand carry do not go down. That drives me crazy!

Is there one thing that you absolutely can't stand on bags? Like you could love every single thing about a bag, but if it has this one detail or feature, you're not interested anymore.

Mine is contrast stitching. I think it looks cheap, no matter how expensive the bag is. Instant no.

Second would be lack of an outer side pocket. I don't want to open my bag to put my phone in every single time, especially with complicated closures. I've had to make exceptions at times but if at all possible, I want an outer pocket.

Third would be no way to close the bag. Zipper, tie, buckle, something.

I don’t want to have to wrestle with my handbag in any way.
Do not like heavy bags, bags that don’t zip or secure totally shut, bags with chain straps that yank my hair out, bags I have to baby, bags without pockets on the inside, bags with logos or a lot of big hardware or rigmarole.
I like a clean, classic, refined, ladylike bag.

Chain strap. Too noisy and annoying. Not comfortable.

Complicated closure system. Don’t have time, don’t want to fiddle with it.

Sharp pointy corners that get scuffed easily. I hate, hate, hate scuffed corners!! It makes a four figure bag look so bad. If I see preowned bags with scuffed corners then no matter how much I love the style, I pass.

the complicated closure system is good for the supermarket since it gives you security you are not being pick pocketed. Where I live pickpocket is a problem at the superMarket so I appreciate a bit complicated closure system

and I love chain straps actually I’m highly drawn to them they make your bag more versatile

Weight and GHW but of course if I spend enough time on TPF I’ll buy an entirely gold bag thats heavy as rocks

if there is a strap, I prefer it to be integral to the body of the bag and part of the design.

Definitely agree on that : No Open bags. living in Mexico is a big no. We have many great things in my country but it’s so easy to get your wallet stolen here and with an open even more.

if you live in the US go with any open bag you want. In LatinAmerica open bags are a huge NO. That’s why when someone on this thread said no to complicated closure system. I said yes for me to Slightly complicated closure systems.

Nothing wrong with slouching and breaking in it looks so good on certrain bags, but I don't like if bags don't keep their style when you just use them, like the bending of the top of the d&g sicily.
They couldn't have foreseen it? No? Okay, then they can keep it.
