i absolutely love the planet as strap idea.. that is brilliant!!

where did the chain come from tho??
ps.. i put my keys in my planet.. that way when i switch bags, i dont forget my keys!

OMG ... a Metallic Rouge would be extremely rare (from the '04/05 Holiday Collection)! I don't know when Balenciaga started making the Boobies, but I do remember an advert in one of the fashion mags (Bazaar perhaps?) which featured the Orange Metallic with the matching Orange Metallic Boobie/Planet.

I got my first one in 2004, purchased at Harvey Nichols in London ... it was actually attached to my Black Shoulder (yes - it's Black Leather with Brass Hardware). That started me on the path!!!

The 2nd one was an '05 White, which I attached to my '05 White Weekender (which I ended up selling - along with the '05 Coin Purse to a tPF member).

Since that time, I've added the following:

1) '05 - Apple Green
2) '05 - Silver Metallic
3) '05 - Bronze Metallic
4) ?? - Lt. Brown Pebble Leather with White Stitching
5) '05 - Sky Blue
6) ?? - Black Leather & White Canvas
7) ?? - Black Leather & Navy Canvas
8) '05 - Magenta

The Magenta one is actually kind of a funny story. I was the original owner who sold it to Donna. Donna must have sold it to another tPF'er ... who put it up on eBay and guess who was the buyer ... ME! I knew it was mine because inside the boobie, was the leopard print stuffing paper!! It's my plan to (eventually) get a Magenta bag to match!

Alas, from my perspective, I'm a little sad that they have become so popular as I was able to scoop them up a lot easier a few years ago (when they were much more plentiful!). Now ... it's really hard to get them ... and yes, "Trama" ... I too wish I could get one in Red!!

Ceejay! So that was you!!!! :crybaby:I was about to bid on that same magenta planet on ebay, I really wanted it soo bad, but I was cooking dinner while I was watching the auction (very last few minutes of the auction). I was cooking pasta, and there was a problem with that f****** pasta (stuck), and the sauce was burning, and then the pasta was about to be overcooked... well, it just was a matter of 30seconds I think. I had my laptop next to me, I wanted to bid but I was like just a few seconds too late. And the pasta ended up being overcooked and the sauce was burned, and you got that magenta planet. :hysteric: :hysteric: :hysteric: . You get the idea...

You have an amazing collection, couldn't you shoot some group pics? I would looooove to see them all toghether.

trama, I saw a metallic red on ebay some time ago, and as usual, was way too slow....does this count as a strange color?

If there's ever an eggplant boobie, I wonder what it'll go for!!

Peppy, I think this one definetly scores the prize for the rarest boobie ever.
And how funny, we all know about his existance but nobody has seen it.
Hopefully the owner will get bored of it one of these days, maybe it will end up once again on ebay??? You never know, it's such a difficult to match color:graucho: .

Oh I'm so glad that somebody asked this - I was too frightened too incase I looked stupid!!!

I've never known anyone make someone look stupid on this forum for asking a question, regardless of what that question was. So ask away. ;)

I have a pod, but have never used it for anything other than an adornment. But as Pinkchristie says, it can be used for your small items i.e. keys, chewy etc

Do you know where the term 'boobie' comes from!!

Dirty minds mainly :roflmfao: I think it was b/c they were round and there aren't very many bags that have a shape anything like a boobie...these were close enough.

The Aviator Dispatch Bag was fondly called the boobie bag...and here's a pic, the name makes sense:

I think they just look good and they're a bit collectible. I have always wanted one, but have hesitated because I don't think I'd actually use it. I'd probably just have it for decoration!
