what is the biggest discount you can get on a rolex watch?

the most discount we can get here really depends on how many watch and how much the watch cost. When we bought a pair of Yachtmaster two years ago, we probaby get like 20% off from the retail price but 12.5% was for the goods sales tax here which u can take it off if u r going overseas within 3 months of the purchase date. So i guess strictly speaking we only get around 8% discount for paying cash
however, last week when my husband bought the annivsary model of the Sub Mariner (the one with the green bezel) the dealer told him there are no discounts on this watch because it is a speical edition.....we had to pay the full retail price for it :push:

I'm planning to buy a Rolex's lady Datejust, preferably with Authorized dealers. Does anyone know where I can get a good deal? How much discount I can expect? Thank you.

Unfortunately, there are no "sales" on Rolex watches. The only time I have see a Rolex watch marked down is when a style has been updated (i.e. the band or clasp has been redone) and then you will see the store sometime send a flyer out to their previous customers letting them know-but it is never publicized to my knowledge. (Mass media ads)

I would suggest looking at your local Rolex jewelry retailers and ask them if any of those are available first. And then if not see if they have a sister store that may still have one as I know a local store here recently sent one of those post cards our way.

Good Luck, they are good watches-you'll have it a lifetime. Hope this helps somewhat.

I actually bought a watch from Jomashop.com and they sell Rolex's. you might want to try there I saved $1200 on the watch I bought, and I also did research prior to make sure they sell authentic watches. They come highly recommended

Thank you all for advices. ADs normally give 10% discount off on Rolex but then I have to pay 8.25% sales tax (CA.). So the total price will be almost the same with no tax, right? Is there any way and where I can get better price than that? Do I need to fly to Hong Kong to get a better price? How often does Rolex increase their prices? How to take care of your Rolex after purchase? Is it expensive?

I checked out Jomashop.com. Their price is really tempting but after reading some other people's reviews on resellerratings.com, I'm skeptical.

I'm not sure if you are looking for a brand new Rolex, but certified pre-owned might be the way to go if price is a concern. Here in Dallas, the best place to go is the Dallas Gold & Silver Exchange (http://www.dgse.com/index.cfm). They offer a warranty through Rolex and are a member of the BBB. No fakes there.. i think they have an online store also

Thanks, Carrie0777. But I'd rather have a new one from ADs. Since Rolex is expensive, even 10 percentage of discount or sales tax would be close to $1000. I'm a cheapskate, I guess.:p

You can try to locate an AD outside of Cali, have the watch shipped and avoid tax. Really you might as well just take your 10%, add back your tax and get your watch. You aren't likely to score more of a discount unless you are really savvy. The most I have seen is 12%.

Depending on which DJ you are considering, the price would be between around 4500 and 7500. You can get an almost new from a reputable reseller (try bernardwatch.com) for in the neighborhood of 30% less. No visible differences...you would avoid sales tax and shipping is 30 bucks. I bought a Tag from them recently and had a wonderful experience. FYI, I own 3 Rolex Datejusts, a Tag and a few others.

You should service your watch every 5 years or so. If you send it back to Rolex, it will cost 600-700. If you find a local Rolex certified watchmaker, it could cost you half.

I bought a new midsize ladies datejust from Mayors last month and she offered me about 10% off right away... I fell in love with the watch but I didnt get it then, The next day DH called her and asked her if we came in that day and purchased it if we could have it for X amount with tax, out the door. It came out to be about 20% off, She has to talk to the manager and call us back. She called back and said we can have it for X amount which was about $200 more then his offer and DH said no. so she called us back and said OK, lol
It's the midsize with diamind dial, fluted bezel, Retail was $7800 so it was a higher priced datejust to begin with but we did get 20% off :wlae: i was so excited.
