What is considered entry level?

I think for those who end up moving through different price points (presumably up), when they look back - that 1st ones they started with are the "entry level".

Not everyone end up spending more and more though, so I don't believe the "entry level" will apply to everyone.

Plenty of people go through life buying one bag of whatever brand and carrying it till it dies, get a replacement and so on. These are not bag fanatics/lovers. I envy them sometimes.

So true!!!!:smile1:

For me it was Coach... I had dooney before I had coach but EVERYONE carrying around those coach pouchettes in so many colors made me want one so bad! My parents gave me money for Christmas one year to buy one but I was still horrified at how much I was about to plunk down for a purse and I chickened out. lol!

Now... oh man, 8-10 years later I have more bags than I can count! I still love Coach though but I have certainly branched out into other brands. I think your 'entry level' is whatever gets your fascination going and what you can afford!

I must be an oddball. I have a couple of LV and purchased them both before I bought any Coach items. I would not consider LV entry level, so I guess I just came to my senses and decided I could get so much more "bang for my buck" with Coach. :shrugs:

In a way I am in a similar boat. I am spending less for my bags, due to realization that these days the categories of quality and brands are not parallel to each other, meaning that a certain brand does not mean unconditional quality, almost every brand seems to have "duds" IMO.

I think Coach and Dooney and Bourke. I started with Chanel and sometimes I wish I had started a little lower on the ladder so the purse addiction wouldn't be quite so bad but hey I like what I like lol

I agree with pickle... Some people dont or wont move up in the price range...

I currently enjoy coach, Juicy Couture and some Betsey Johnson bags.
I also like the look of some LAMB bags, but dont have any (yet). I am currently in love with a few bags from an inexpensive brand called Nichole Lee (though some of their bags are wonky at best).

I have done research on and checked out LV and Burberry... And... I honestly don't think I'll ever want a bag from either brand... I havent seen any Balenciaga, Gucci or Prada bags I want either. Or Kors, Chanel, Chloe, Dior, ect.

If I do ever spend bank on a bag or clutch, it will probably be Alexander McQueen or maybe tracking down a few Fendi spybags.

I'm just to ridiculously picky about what I like, I suppose? That it really limits what brands produce that appeal to me.

So for me, I don't think the bags I started with are "entry level" so much as the "standard" for me. :/

I'd say brands that are everywhere, easily found for a steep discount. I go into any department store and they're all loaded with Coach and Dooney. Outlets for these brands are everywhere. Or brands like B. Makowsky and Betsey Johnson, or Juicy, Michael Kors....yeah, they're considered "designer" but you can still find tons of them on the bargain tables or dept stores' discount locations.
