What is considered entry level?

Entry-level for me would be Kathy Van Zeeland, Nine West and Liz Claiborne. Those were the brands I bought before I discovered (and started lusting after) higher end brands. ^^

I was talking to one of my girlfriends about handbags, and she mentions that she considers entry level purses as labels like Coach, Marc by Marc, Tory Burch, Juicy Couture. What labels do you consider entry level for a handbag collector who is beginning to branch off into designer?

I agree with those brands, and I'd also add Michael Kors, Cole Haan, and Dooney & Bourke.

Any brand that usually retils for under $500, IMO, would be entry level.

It all depends on your location ofcourse. Had never heard of Coach or D&B before so I looked at some purse collections on Youtube of people showing coach and D&B bags. Mostly teenage girls showing tiny wristlets...haha. So that's probably entry level over there.
I live in Holland and for me it was Longchamp Le Pliage and Fred de la Bretoniare who is a Dutch brand average price i'd say about $200 for a nice leather bag. I'm on to the next stage so leather Longchamps and RM which for many on this forum would count as midrange i guess.

I'm in a relatively upscale area and I see a lot of girls 12 and up with Juicy Couture or Coach siggy or Poppy purses, rarely an LV Multicolore pouchette (they all go to private schools with high fees, so I assume their bags are real).

By the time they reach college or working age I see a lot of monogram or Damier LV and leather or siggy Coach.

My first "branded" bag was a leather Coach (although I really wanted a Dooney and Bourke until I saw the cheap-looking lining!)
