I have learned that bags really don't give me that much pleasure. I recently starting riding motorcycles and the realization that spending a few thousand on a motorcycle is way more rewarding than a new purse. It's something that gives me a great deal of happiness. I guess it's more about the experience than the material possession. That being said, I still find myself weak for bags, but getting a new one isn't really all that fulfilling.

What you're saying here corroborates the findings of some social science researchers-that experiences give people more lasting pleasure than material goods

Also, I *love* your profile photo. You look fantastic, feminine and completely kick a$$. Pure awesomeness.

Handbags are my favorite accessories. I never understood why other handbag lovers sold their bags, and now I get it. For me, it's a way to restructure my handbag collection before going on a ban. :smile1:

My friends will never understand. I don't have to justify my love for anyone. And finally I'm glad that I'm not as obsessed with clothes anymore because no matter how much weight I gain or lose, handbags will always fit!

Oh! And I can never own too many black bags because justification is my friend.

That when I finally own that must have Holy Grail bag I'm only content for a month or so before I find another "OMG that is my absolute HG bag" .... sigh [emoji29]

I experience that too..sometimes it lasts only a week..[emoji45]
It's like a hobby(addiction)..searching..finding..buying..and then all over again..I have to stop..it's too expensive.

I don't like:
- saffiano leather
- heavy bags
- top handles only
- colourful bags

I love:
- Black and Tan coloured leather bags
- totes for work and crossbody for play
- I love switching in and out of bags depending on what I'm wearing!

That is exactly how I feel! Except for colourful bags which I do love. I realized I hardly want to carry those heavy or handheld only bags. Very expensive lessons and now I do not even know how to sell those bags.

Lol!!!! 😂
That sums me up. I have AW rocco, mulberry Bayswater and speedy 30 sitting and collecting dust cos of the reasons above.
I love the look of colourful bags on OTHERS but on me its just a no no. Lessons learnt.

Same here!
1) My YSL Cabas that's handheld only have been
carried only once.
2) My Mulberry Bayswater which I have not even use
even once!
3) Loewe Amazona carried once only. Need to sell
this Amazona to get the new Amazona model that
comes with strap.
4) Givenchy Antigona Med. Damn heavy so used
twice only. Shoulder strap is just for show in old
model. New model has longer strap. So I might
buy New model but in small size this time! Med is
just TOOOOOO Heavy!

5) Having too much Black & Brown color bags!! Now
I need to consider which black & brown to sell [emoji22]

All these bags were bought from stores so they are all still brand new looking! GRRRR....upset with myself lol.

That as much as I like premier designer brands, it's more practical for me to buy the contemporary brands that I like as I don't feel comfortable with people judging me at work and I tend to not use too much the premier ones as I'm scared of them getting scuffed, etc. not unless its the durable canvas. I use the premier ones for nicer occasions and I use my contemporary ones as workhorse

I had a job a few years ago that made me feel this way. It was a signal (among others) that it wasn't the right place for me. I could NEVER understand how a company could pay me more than enough to afford an "expensive" bag and then have a culture where co workers would look askance when I bought and carried it.

Life is too short to deal with crazy. If I decide to buy a multi million dollar handbag and live in it like Mother Hubbard lived in her shoe, I don't want to deal with any issues / hate / jealousy from others.

So go ahead and buy the bags you want! Wear them in the evenings and weekends. Soon you will get so drunk on the happy & freedom you will carry your favorite bags anytime / anywhere. 😀👍

How tall are you? I have the Antigona medium in the older model and I always feel the strap is long on me so I carry it in the crook of my arm.

YES! YES!!! YES!!!!!! [emoji2][emoji2][emoji2]

I LOVE handbags! So when I get a "HG", styles change, my favorite brands launch the new season's lines, a blogger highlights something new... And my mad lust finds a new handbag (or two or three or twelve) to target.

My handbag collection will never be static. I don't know that I could ever have a bag for life. Even my Chanel's (investment bags? HA!) aren't safe from the capricious nature of my changing handbag tastes. I turnover bags constantly.

So my main lesson is buy with resale in mind. There will be another bag I hunger for just around the bend. And the bag I love today will be enjoyed for a while and then sold to fund my next love.

CHAAAAAAARRRRGGGGEEE!!!!!

Ahh so true!
