Something else I've recently learned:
I prefer neutral handbags.
This has come as kind of a shock to me, because I'm a color lover. My first designer bag back in the day was bright red; my second was bright green. Now, my collection is shaping up in hues of black, brown, white, and gray. What has happened to me??? I think it's because my wardrobe is pretty colorful and whimsical, and so a bright statement bag has dangerously high potential to look clownish. Also, as I get older, I find I enjoy looking "sophisticated" more than I used to (I've always been a pretty staunch hippie, LMAO). So I'm going with it. Even though I'm attracted to colorful bags almost as if by HABIT (that's really what it feels like), I feel best about the neutrals, and I'm glad I'm realizing this before I blow a bunch of coin on oranges and turquoises and various other things that I'd admire but then reach right over to grab my black bag for the hundredth time.
