What have you learned through your handbag addiction?

my priorities and personal tastes changed over time as i got older.
so while i love having wide variety to choose from, it's important
for me to opt for function and quality rather than what is on trend.

I have not bought a new handbag for over a year and have sold some off so now am down to 4 high end. I do t feel buying more is going to make me happier. I try them on in store and do not get the same excitement I used to. I would rather put my money into other things now, savings etc.

I will buy handbags in the future I'm not saying I'll never get one again - I just feel like it should be when I have enough money to buy it without it denting my savings etc

That the addiction can continue without spending any money. I am enjoying what I have and I am nearly at one year of not buying any handbags.

Just brilliant.

I am also finding that I enjoy researching bags, looking at them, trying them on, talking about them, learning about them, mentally styling them . . . and that all of this is FREE.

The "handbag hobby" doesn't necessarily revolve around PURCHASING handbags. The handbags exist out there in the world, and we can enjoy and appreciate them without having to acquire them. Freedom!

It sounds easy now but this way of thinking has been difficult and is a constant battle for me (like a true addiction haha) Especially during sale season. it is very possible to enjoy for free if I put conscious effort in. My husband and my bank balance are grateful. As is my collection as I am using more of my bags. Thanks for the comment.

+1 and patient with all the rambling about handbags

most ppl think I'm crazy. they can't understand why I need anymore bags. they feel like I pretty much have every color, type, and material available. so why more. they can't understand style differences, etc. so have a patient spouse is a blessing lol

I know what you mean - it is SO easy to get swept up in thinking I NEED THIS BAG TO COMPLETE MY LIFE! It's definitely hard to walk the line between just enjoying window shopping and . . . starting to covet and obsess. I go from one side of that line to the other pretty much daily.

I agree! I am so saturated with my own bags at this point that I haven't had the desire to buy a new bag in a long time. My last bag purchase was over a year ago and I still have a hard time getting all of my lovelies into carry rotation. I get a lot of pleasure seeing other people's reveals, inventory updates, and OOTD though.

I LOL'd. So true. When I bought the Bal yesterday, the Neiman Marcus SA was like, "you walked right past the sale table! I can't believe it!" and I was like, "listen, lady, I'm on a mission." NOT TODAY, SATAN.
ROTFLMAO!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
New learning I just had...because evidently I'm slow. 😵
If I am supposed to be on "ban island" I can't keep window shopping for bags. (Duh!)

I'm married. I don't go looking for single guys. People who are dieting don't need to visit bakeries. Alcoholics don't spend their free time in bars. So why do I think that when I'm on handbag ban, that "just looking" at bags online / in stores makes any kind of sense??? Of COURSE I'll find something to drag me off ban. LOL!

Um...soooooo...Now that I realized this, can someone come over her and snatch my laptop out of my clutches?
