What Do You Think of the Larger Fobs and Charms?

I hadn't heard Ledobe lost her Baseman charm. That is terrible. Sometimes I'm so worried I'll lose a fob or hangtag that I'm constantly checking. It spoils the fun of having the charm in the first place. If I know the charm is going to stay on the bag, like the feather on my Dakotah, I use strong thread strung through the rings. It isn't noticeable and it makes me feel more secure.

It had probably just fallen off when I noticed it, but campus is such a high traffic pedestrian area it got picked up right away.

Well, I've discovered that it is actually possible for a Butterfly to be big and clunky!

I had to do an errand at the outlet mall near my job the other day so I ran into the Coach stores, there wasn't much in the way of FP deletes and of course they were showcasing the Disney products.

They only had one large Butterfly riviet fob F58996 left and it was in the saddle color so I bought it for $34. I had misgivings because it is so big but I liked the way it was made and decorated. I figured that it might look okay with one of my really large bags like Rory or XL Borough.

I took it home and tried it out with some of my bigger bags but decided that it just won't work - it's really a huge Butterfly! I don't want the fob to overpower the bag so I took it back today and returned it.

I took a few pics of the monster Butterfly fob and compared it to my other Butterfly fobs. Before this I thought the 3D Butterfly was big but it looks puny next to the saddle one!

Here's the list (from bottom to top), it's funny but the one I didn't like and returned was the one that cost me the most!
  • Saddle Butterfly, F58996 SV SD, $34
  • 3D Butterfly Bag Charm, 54987 BK FOR, $22 (MSRP = $125)
  • Butterfly, Heart, Star Key Fob, 92721 SV MC, $23

I guess so! I just looked on ebay and saw that it measure 6" across. Holy moly, that's huge, what were they thinking? I know sometimes bag charms can be used as a keychain but it's way too large for that as well.

Here's a picture of the chalk one on a tote, it's really pretty but way too big IMO. I imagine that it would be flopping around and banging in to things.

That's a Kelsey. It is smaller than a tote. That's probably the small size Kelsey. The small size is about 8 1/2 inches tall and the mini is about 6 3/4 inches tall.
I don't think it looks good on there at all.
No bigger in fact looks smaller than the Rexys I love the big butterfly's so beautifully made would love one

I'm not a fan of the Rexy fobs although I know that I am in a minority and that they are very popular, but in some pics they look so big in comparison to the bag. They may be hanging below the bottom of the bag - or look like they are walking next to the bag when it is sitting on a table.

I love decorative fobs but I still want my beautiful bag to be the center of attention with the fob as an accent. With some of these really large fobs it looks like they are competing with the bag, not complimenting it - but that's just my opinion.

I have a few totes that I think are large enough to handle the butterfly, here are a couple of them. I prefer it on the Minkoff unlined tote more than on the Frye tote. It would also work well on my bleecker business tote or weekend tote. I haven't actually used it yet because I want to alter and remove the key ring and shorten the chain a bit

Would work on a market tote too
