That goes for many brands. I don't think a celebrity owning something makes it a high-end brand, that comes from the brand itself.

Lining is an important feature in a bag indeed. It can make or break the overall impression of luxury. And this goes for any brand of course.
Yes, they may receive bags as promo gifts from all types of brands but it is their personal choice to use them.
I love both my MK collection bags and my MMK bags. I like many of the styles he puts out and there seems to be choices available for all price ranges.
It really is, i have surprised myself at how much it can make or break a bag for me.. of coarse your in them so often and if it is ugly and/or terrible to the touch you want nothing to do with the bag.
I like the fact that MK has some basic/classic bags that are their "staples" and don't change every other month or with each new floor set. Also, same holds true for the price point. One can buy a beautiful bag with excellent quality at a very reasonable price, which doesn't increase astronomically every time a new bag comes out or a new season comes around. These are the reasons which have attracted me to MKors. 
I think that the quality is really great for the price point and I agree that they definitely last as long and longer than much more expensive bags I've had.
I do love his Saffiano leather bags, like the Sutton. For me personally, I see it as a perfect alternative to the Prada double zip.
One of the main selling point of luxury bags and SLGs used to be for me that they were made in Italy, UK, Spain, France etc. Now that a lot of "luxury" brands have outsourced to China and quality is deteriorating, I really don't see the point of buying them anymore.
Yes, most MK bags are made in China, but the prices reflect this, too.
I also like the detailing of most of his bags.
I feel they actually do put some thought into usability. A lot of luxury bags don't have good pockets or inside organisation or missing shoulder straps. MK bags have all of these things, usually!
As I'm a working mum durability, usability (i.e. handsfree and easy to find keys) and beautiful design are really important to me, therefore I like MK.
I don't care at all that some people find him to common, cheap and so forth. Lots of people think the same about LV also and this is another brand I love. :happy dance:
I'm also getting a lot of compliments on my MK bags. My electric blue Sutton seems to be a total crowd pleaser
As far as the ability of MK as a designer goes: I just wrote this the other day, but I'll never forget the absolutely amazing outfits he created for Renee Russo for the Thomas Crown affair.
Also, he brought back Celine at a timepoint where the only thing people associated with the name "Celine" was a certain singer

I thought you were saying that the celebrities don't buy Michael Kors, that are that they are just given to them, even though I was told by an MK rep, that there is entire MK underground market of bags we don't even see. They all custom made for thousands of dollars and these celebrities are paying big bucks for them. MK really is a luxury brand, contrary to popular belief. Many movie stars indeed do buy MK bags all the time. We even have an entire thread showing them. Check it out sometime! I am just stating a fact, not attacking anyone. I merely said if MK having 9000.00 real croco bags, doesn't prove to others, that he is a luxury designer, than nothing will. That's it, that's all. Not meant to be derogatory at all.
In fact I noticed you are new here in the MK thread. Welcome to our forum. We are all great friends here and always have so much fun. Many have said we are the nicest, most fun forum on the TPF! That's because the ladies here are all so classy and stylish. We love our Michael Kors and enjoy sharing our bags, showing all the beautiful colors each style comes in and just plain having fun. Hope you will show us any of your MK bags! We'd love to see them!
