Workplace What do you do for a living?

Currently an outside B2B product specialist for an office technology company. Not an actual sales rep, but more of an overlay/support role. I love that I get to learn about a lot of different businesses, but I happen to have a lot of cancer treatment centers and hospice houses, and it can be hard on me to see some of the things I see.

I've always dreamed of going to law school though. I just got all of my study guides and books for the LSAT. I'm excited and also anxious. I know the job market for lawyers isn't great, but I know I can be great at this. I hope this will allow for a better life. I'm not a fit for the sales world. It's enormously stressful for an introvert, and it's not fulfilling. I'm in my late twenties and feel like I'm too old to go back to school, but I now know this is the path I want to take

I forgot about this thread, but thought I’d follow suit and give an update. I quit my career and am in my second semester of law school. I love being a student again and am learning so much. It’s so interesting. Exams have posed a real challenge for me though, and in law school your final exam is your only grade in each class. I’m working on different study methods and hope to fare better this time around.

It’s fun to see we have such a diverse crowd on here. So many hard-working pros, SAHPs, etc.

Fascinating. If I hadn’t gone to law school I would’ve loved to have done something in psychology. The mind is fascinating and i would think it can be rewarding. I know you have to tough to face some of the challenges though
An ongoing challenge is looking directly at one's own world views for possible biases that may be encouraging stigma. As with any study in health care - one's own opinions have to be set to the side and learn to listen to what is being said. The study of intelligent listening is heavily contained within the study different mental illnesses in order to respond in a therapeutic way.
