I agree that political opinions from celebrities are just ridiculous. To me, since 50% of the people out there (potential fans or whatever) are going to disagree with you because of different political beliefs, then its better business to keep your mouth shut. To think that you're so influential and important to change peoples' belief systems is really condescending.
