I'm confused by this statement because I've definitely seen ostrich and alligator (or was it croc) wallets at the larger boutiques. Usually only one as a SO example.

I too have seen/heard of wallets being SO'd in exotic leathers. Wallets are the only things considered Small Leather Goods that are an exception that I can think of at the moment.

I know that you can SO monogram and damier and a few Vernis items, you can also have bags made in the all vache leather!! BUt you can't SO small goods
That's a part of Louis Vuitton's work for special orders is producing small goods for their customers. They do, in fact, do it for their customers and have been doing it for a very long time.

Can you name a few examples, excluding exotic skin wallets?
If you know that certain smaller items CAN be SO'ed then wouldn't you know what lines can't be SO'ed as well?
could a damier speedy 35 be SO'd? i'd love one, if i could SO it.:s
