What bags do you consider too young for you?

I’m in my 60’s and for me it’s more lifestyle. I just returned a Chanel reissue because I realized I would feel ridiculous carrying it to my Pilates class. I don’t change bags. I find a bag I
Iike and just use it every day. I know that makes me unusual for this forum. I also have a very casual lifestyle. I don’t need formal looking bags. I did use age to rule out a Hermes CDC bracelet until I found a slim one online. I felt the original was too edgy for my age, the slimmer one is fine IMO.

I must admit I wore my first CDC was when I was 15. I bought a new one a couple of years ago (same colour - black/ghw). Obviously I wear it with different things and sometimes one on each wrist with a black roll neck/long sleeves or over a deep cuff black shirt. It's all in the styling. The CDC was created in 1947, a very sophisticated year for fashion.

Gucci sent a long black dress down the runway AW18 with an all-black Micky Mouse head bag in the models hand. It looked amazing and could be worn at any age. Think of the amazing novelty bags of the 1950s or the space age 1960s, done the right way humorous accessories can be very chic.

The worst thing we can do as women (or men) is comply with society that tries to rob us of our personality, individuality, and confidence. Society has traditionally rendered older women invisible, wave your favourite bag in it's face whether that be a Hello Kitty or a stealth SO BBK.

Since you're asking I have a sling (to the back) white angel wing bag, a denim bag with Madussa's head (made for me by a friend as a commission) a Camo army bag backpack, a full on Bracher Emden exotic/studded clutch (if anyone remembers them). I don't consider those too young for me, but I did give away my poodle nightie case I carried as a bag.

I don't really find any bags too young for me. Now I wouldn't carry a bag designed for a kid...My Little Ponies, etc. But if someone has a really fun sense of style then I think they could totally rock a kid's bag too. I see some people saying that 'mini' bags are too young for them? I ask, 'Why?' I almost exclusively carry mini or small bags. I do like the way they look but it is largely a question of functionality. I carry very little with me...a small wallet, card case, 6 key holder, phone, and lipstick. Why do I need a bigger bag? The answer is that I don't. A big bag would be a waste for me. My items would fill only a tiny portion of the inside. To me, the small bag is the most convenient...fits my items and my items don't get lost in a big pit.

So well said, Insert applauding emoticon.

Personally, I feel the older you get the less you care, and so the more you can afford to wear whatever strikes your fancy.

I would have never worn a Hello Kitty bag at 15, or a Mickey Mouse head bag at 30, but I don't rule out doing so at 80.

Becoming an eccentric granma has always been a dream of mine. I plan on spending all my cosmetic procedures budget on outrageous clothes and bags.
