What bags do you consider too young for you?

I'm in my 30's and love my hot pink Kate spade bag. I don't think pink has to just be for young girls. It's the shape of the bag that makes the difference. Mine still have a very structured shape.

And on the flip side, can you be too young for a bag. I feel that way about certain bags.

Considering I still wear neon colors, pinks, and mini bags, I think most any style is fair game.

Mostly, I'd say bags that are considered disposable fashion. While young is relative, trendy, flashy, mass-manufactured of cheap materials, and not meant to be worn longer than a season bags don't make sense for me anymore. When you're trying to figure out your style without spending exorbitant amounts of money, it's logical, but nowadays, if I like a bag enough to purchase it, I don't want to worry about it coming apart.

Interesting question! I'm going to be 60 next week. I don't feel like there's a certain type or make of bag I "shouldn't" wear. It's just some don't appeal to me. Probably because of my age, at least partly. But I don't have to stop myself from buying one, they just don't enter my radar. There are some that others might think inappropriate, but I still have my eyes on an Alexander McQueen knuckleduster skull clutch and while I might pass on the LV cer. speedy, I think I'd snap up a roses LOL. My grandmother, when feeling snarky about something a woman of a certain age was wearing would refer to it as mutton disguised as lamb.......I still chuckle when I catch myself thinking of that.

I'm in my mid thirties and I wouldn't rule out any specific style. It's more on the color, style, structure, etc combination. For example, I love bows, especially in Kate Spade bags, but cannot do Betsey Johnson, they just seem gaudy too me. I bought a Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mab Tote in Watermelon and ended up returning in because it felt too young for me. I have ruled out Mini Mabs entirely on the basis that they are impractically small.

Basically, I'm open to anything and I rule on a case by case basis. I do loo much younger than my age so I milk that. I can dress younger and not look out of place, and I can dress my age and still look fine. It depends on my mood. Also, I tend to be pretty conservative with my clothes and, to a large extent, my shoe choices, and I don't accessorize as much as others, so I like bags that don't take themselves too seriously. It's fine to have classic colors and silhouettes, but fun bags are a great addition to an outfit, IMO.

Generally, I think you can rock any bag at any age!!

Personally (I am 32), I passed on bags like the Alexander Wang Rocko because I thought it was too trendy/young. I would have loved this bag in my 20s! I try to buy more classical handbags these days. Although I still love the Rocko, especially in black with rose gold hardware!

I will also sell my Philip Lim Pashli and get the Celine Phantom instead. I feel like it is the grown up version of this bag style.

Anything I don't like.

Saying, "That's too young for me," sounds more polite than, "Wtf is that crap?!"

Especially when facing bag shaped as guitar or strawberry.

Or design trying too hard for impressive, with flashy/weird stuff.

Or uber-trendy bag, impossible to use practically.

Or a very hopeful sa, holding something ugly/expensive & smiling.

I understand about cambridge satchel.

My love affair ended 2 or 3 months after purchase of 11" classic.

When it let my phone slide out of front pocket onto concrete--over & over.

Bag then became "too young for me" & left.

Hope helps. :)

So so funny!! :)
