What bags do you consider too young for you?

So Rilakkuma is ok, right? Good to know as I have a large canvas Rilakkuma tote :smile1: I hardly ever carry it unless I'm carting parcels to/from the post office but it makes me smile.

I had to look it up to see what you meant. Too cute! I actually love Hello Kitty and friends but personally think I'm too old for it now. I don't at all judge others for it though, and if I saw you with your bag at the post office it would probably make my day [emoji4]

For me, the obvious ones already mentioned. Juicy, Guess, and Coach Poppy anything. I have one poppy but I only keep it because it's a gift. Michael Kors only looks young if they carry the old MK that you find at Ross or TJMAXX. Those tend to be the "Kors" line bags. I have several MK and they all look sophisticated and mature, and all from the (sorry to say) more expensive MK lines. Maturity often costs more money unfortunately.

I've just turned 45 and still can't bring myself to buy a PS1 pouch. There was a time when each age group stuck to their own kind of styles and designers that were age appropriate but now no one follows those rules. Despite this I struggle to buy a bag I like if all the mod shots are of young ladies.

Time passes so fast... I recently turned 29 and find that LV Multicolor doesn't really suit me anymore (although I still love to wear bright colors). Also anything with flowers or anything sweet (other than Totoros :P) isn't something I'd wear (but wouldn't have done so earlier neither)

I have noticed that now I am in my 30s, things I bought just two years ago are...odd on me. It feels like I'm trying too hard.

I love my Juicy Couture Daydreamer in taupe with pale green bows on the sides, but when I started working in a conservative corporate job this year, I felt I couldn't bring it to the office since it looked so out of place/too casual with my blazers and business wear (and now, I don't even wear it on the weekends). I saw another tPFer has a Daydreamer in this thread though...!

So for me, too young is:
Betsey Johnson, Juicy Couture, cloth/patterned backpacks from Target, actually...patterned anything (I bought a black/grey signature Coach small tote several years ago that feels too young now), overly flashy shapes with glitter (even though I saw a Rebecca Minkoff satchel with light glitter on it that I rather liked).

So for SLGs, I do like small bows, heart charms, flower prints, or even sparkle sheens. They go inside my bag, so they are my own personal enjoyment that don't effect how my outfit appears.

I know age is just a number and it's all about whether you can rock the style but there are certain bag styles that I just feel are too young for me (mid-30s). Wonder if that's something that varies for everyone?

For me, I can't do schoolbag satchels anymore. The Cambridge Satchel feels very, very young to me. Saw a picture of Malala with hers, and it looks perfect for her age. The Mulberry Alexa and PS1 are bags I would have loved in my mid-20s but not now.

I also can't do those cute little backpacks with skinny straps. They look so silly dangling off my back. Full-size leather backpacks though are fine.

I should find mini bags too young... But I love them! Not micro-minis, just regular minis like the RM Mini Macs and Gucci Disco!

I too find backpacks childish for me (sorry) as well as micro bags (sorry again), these designs are like from my yester growing up years, which I certainly no way ever want to return to.

I’m in my 60’s and for me it’s more lifestyle. I just returned a Chanel reissue because I realized I would feel ridiculous carrying it to my Pilates class. I don’t change bags. I find a bag I
Iike and just use it every day. I know that makes me unusual for this forum. I also have a very casual lifestyle. I don’t need formal looking bags. I did use age to rule out a Hermes CDC bracelet until I found a slim one online. I felt the original was too edgy for my age, the slimmer one is fine IMO.
