What bags do you consider too young for you?

I'm in my 40's so most of the things my daughter or nieces (typical teenagers) like would be too young for me. Kate Spade's fruit/animal designs, neon colors or bags with cute sayings or stickers.

Interesting thread. I tend to think I go through style phases (and hopefully evolve!), but I don't really think any bags are too young for me. I'm older than the OP but carry (and love) a Mulberry Alexa and two Proenza Shouler PS1s. They work very well in my particular professional environment, which is serious but casual (big logos and obvious bags would be too conspicuous). Looking back, my very structured and/or obvious bags (e.g., Fendi 2Jours, Givenchy Antigona, Bal City (with blingy hardware), YSL Cabas) seem younger, as they stood out too much. I like to think I'm wearing the bags I own now (as opposed to the other way around) and have therefore evolved.

Not wanting to wear Juicy etc. just strikes me as attaining a higher taste level, not a function of age. That should be celebrated! At one time I thought I was the bomb for having a Rebecca Minkoff Nikki hobo in teal (it was my first thread on TPF, in fact). Ha! Fortunately, I've progressed since then, but I can still rock fun and unique bags, and expect to be able to do so for many, many years to come :).

Not the style but more the color/pattern.. some just feel too "young" and i won't wear them. Part of my problem is i have always looked young, so i suppose i prefer to keep things more classic looking vs trendy to avoid downing myself to much lol

Any heavy and oversize bag that makes me look as uncomfortable as I feel. When I was in high school and college, it looked ok, now, not so much unless its a backpack for camping. I recently had my elderly mother try on my large Coach Rhyder 33 just to see and it looked ridiculous and cruel, lol. These days I actually think about how I'd look carrying a bag decades from now if I'm considering splurging on a new one "meant to last".

I'm in my early 30s and I wear a bright yellow Alexa to a very professional job everyday at the moment. Attached to it is a black and white fendi Pom Pom that has been likened to a skunk by members of my family :) I may look silly but I don't care cos I have grown to love that bag.

My perception of what may look young is what I see younger people wearing that is on trend. Those bags I am less likely to purchase at this stage in my life.

I'm wary of anything too casual looking. I'm mid 20s but often mistaken for a high school kid, so I tend to make a point of wearing very structured, formal looking bags that scream 'I have a corporate job!'

I'm in my 30's too but I just fell in love with Mulberry Alexa n also PS1 lol. But I wouldn't buy them in girlish pink or neon colors. I consider colors to b a factor more than the design of the bag itself. Having said that, I can't accept myself wearing bag with big bows....but I love to tie my bags with with twilly to make a bow! I know that doesn't make sense. Hahaha I may be crazy? [emoji37] I also have soft spots for cute bag charms too! Arghhh.....
Oh btw I still carry cartoon - Tokidoki bag for pool/beach use. Perhaps I should stop! [emoji23] Juicy Couture is OUT for me. Cambridge Satchel is still ok if in appropriate color.

I find it hard to accept Graffiti (even if it's LV), big polka dots, big bows, girlish pink/neon colors OR too much of stuff like:- studs/chain/Zip/fringes on anyone 60+ and above.

Bags aNd shoes are ageless in my view. I would chose any bag I felt drawn to, it is the overall styling and choice of clothes paired with the bag / shoes that are more imp when it comes to 'dressing your age' in my view.

Just curious to hear your opinion on 70's ladies in with brightly color Cartoon prints/skull/skeleton. Oh how about MCM Studs backpack for those in 70's to 80's?

Depends on my mood! I have a huge selection of purses! When I use Michael Kors purses i feel more intelectual, more old for what I look ! When i use my Juicy Couture purses I feel more me! Im 34 y/o now but I guess I look younger and I love wear basic clothes aka jeans and t shirt! So depend on my mood i go with coach, or MK or even Juicy (no the pinkish ones though 😊) the one I really enjoy to use is this burgundy one! It's a juicy couture Ms daydream ! I love the color, size, has the famous bows on the sides, is still cool And i dont feel ridiculous wearing it!

I also never use a purse just because is fancy! Per example, chanel purses for me never!!! Is not my style! I dont like their square look purses with gold / metal chains! Just not for me! I prefer Santa Marinella leather purses (brand from Brazil similar to Michael Kors), MK, coach ( no much but like their madison bags) and some of Juicy ( most totes like the pic above nothing with ghetto prints or pinkish)
