Hi slip, i m fr singapore. :smile1: should catch up ya? jus saw this post, i was at DFS yesterday. i will check out Quintessential soon. Saw many of their stuff in local mags. The RM MA bag i spotted last week was a white n brown (??) basket weave, thought this brand is too new to have fakes here. hehe

I bought my MAM online from Luna Boston with 25% off and am curious as to Quintessential's pricing for RM bags. Their markup is incredible! :wtf:

Here in Chicago, I'd say it is the LV Speedy bag. One day I saw three different women carrying it! I must admit that for my own reasons I am no fan of LV though. I also see a lot of Coach monogram canvas bags everywhere as well as a lot of fake looking Chanel totes.

What I never see is Balenciaga. Actually, I just purchased one for that reason. Something different, ya know?

In Spain are very very very popular Carolina Herrera, Loewe and Tous.
Other bags very populars are LV, Gucci and Balenciaga.

Now, i see a lot of teens that pretend to be boho-chic use 2.55 Chanel.

And, like in the rest of Europe, a lot of Burberrys and Longchamp, everywhere you go in Europe you can see tons and tons of Longchamp (in Ibiza is very popular use like a beach bag)

In Italy we have many interesting brands such as Coccinelle, Francesco Biasia and Braccialini. I think at least half, if not more of the LV one sees around are fake (they're sold at every street corner) so LV is not coveted at all. There are also lots of fake Prada. Gucci not so common.
I also spend some of my time in Belgium and here ladies dress in a more conservative way (boring), besides, selling fakes is (allegedly) forbidden by law, so there are plenty LV and other French brands, such as Longchamp (also quite boring and conservative from my point of view) and a Belgian brand called Delvaux (again, conservative to the utmost). Gerard Darrel of evry size and color are visible everywhere. Occasionally one sees a Prada or a Gucci, but the French market is very protective of its own brands, so import of Italian handbags is not encouraged.

dierregi, I thought Italy is very strict about fakes. I've been told that staff at airports are trained to spot fakes and will fine people for attempting to enter the country with fake goods.

Who told you that? In Italy there are plenty of abusive sellers who place their fake bags directly on the pavement (they just put a sheet or rug and cover it with fakes). You find them in all major cities. They usually have a friend checking out if the police is around. As soon as they spot an agent, they put their fakes away and walk away. They sell all the major brands, from LV to Prada, and now also Gucci and MiuMiu. As far as the staff at airports is concerned, they never ever checked me, and I travel a lot and carry lots of different bags (some more costly than others). That is why I wrote that LV is definitely not coveted in Italy, because even if you get a real one, most people would think it is fake. Personally, I would never buy one, because their design is too "square" and I like soft, slouchy bags, but also because since I was a teenager I am used to consider it a cheap, fake bag. The same applied to the old Dior (those made with their logo and embroidered fabric). I also saw lots of fakes (again, usually Prada and LV) in Mexico. In Bali there is even a stand inside the airport, selling only fake Prada, prices around $300/$400.
