What bag would be considered an "Old Lady Handbag"?

I think of Old Lady bags and the horrible thing that was carried by 'his mother' in the old George Lopez show. She carried it everywhere, all the time.

Depends on the design of the bag, color, fabric, etc. Each designer has made some pretty "old ladyish bags" at some point in my opinion. Chanel always comes to mind for me.

I'm an old lady, I suppose, but I don't know what makes an old-lady handbag. I know I don't own any as all my bags are fabulous.

Well, looking at everyone's answers, I guess I'm an old lady then, and I'm only 19 But I can't help it, I love old looking vintage bags like Whiting & Davis and bags with kisslocks! :nod: In fact I saw an older woman using a walker with a what i'm pretty sure was a vintage mesh Whiting & Davis bag, I really wanted to go and compliment her, and I really should have, but I'm never brave enough to say anything!

I think structured satchel type bags that ar boxy look very old ladyish to me like for really old ladies. For middle aged I would say pleated mom jeans and a Buxton bag
