What bag would be considered an "Old Lady Handbag"?

Yesterday, I wore my Birkin. It is a nice structured bag. I think ladies feel that it is an old lady handbag since it is worn on your forearm or wrist. BTW, I'm 36.
Honey, I would take a Birkin or a Kelly in a heartbeat, whether they're considered "old lady" or not!
Some people have actually called what I consider unisex or somewhat masculine-looking handbags as "old lady".
Gosh, I'm not sure why you guys think a Kelly is too old looking .... Miroslava is 24 and looks smokin' with her Kelly....

Man, you all are a hoot. Non dowdy, boomers with golden girl and George Lopez throw backs... But something happened that definitely changed because ages of today are not the same as they use to be. It's like 10 or 20 years got shaved off. its weird... Anyway, I found this site because I have been having an issue with finding bag styles that I like and liking some that are in but use to feel very old to me.. Maybe because I'm turning 4o so I'm wondering if I'm just coming around to a certain look because I reached the down hill. Lol.
I have a 3 year old... I'm Thinking about enrolling him in soccer and I've been liking the look of some nylon bags, recently . Ehh I feel like Im sharing and saying Im an adict for the first time. Lol.
Many years ago, I use to work at Macy's and one brand called Laporte, always had a certain van driving sort of lady snatch em up like the hottest thing. I would look at this silly little monkey key chain they all came with and I'd cringe. Now, I'm not miss trendy but I know style and keep on the same page. Maybe on a more mild, toned down, side but it's rare that I snub my nose at a style... It's just the black piping and silly patterns... that whole brand still does gets me, but I feel like I'm coming around to just a small peg away ... Am officially the customer that 'NEEDS TO KNOW IF Laporte sacs are ON Sale, YET?'.. If so, tell me easy. Thanks
