What bag has best resale value?

From my experience, the Classic flaps hold their value better; there is a greater demand for them over the Reissue.

Thank you, I always wondered about that. I also always wonder about things like the color of the bags. I don't plan to buy things to sell. I just find it really interesting.

Also, it is nice to know, that if I am ever in need, I can sell my bags and not have lost too much money. Hopefully that won't ever happen but you can't predict the future.

For flaps, the classic colors (black and beige claire) are like blue chip stocks, but the ones that are in high demand are reds, specifically the true reds and bright reds. Gold hardware seem to do better when paired with beige Claire and reds. And of course, condition counts; Chanel flaps, once they look used, just do not look good, in my opinion. The older stiff caviar aged so much better than what they are using now.

Wow, thank you. You are very knowledgeable.

Do you know if size of flap matters?

Also, do you know these specifics about other brands as well?

Thank you for all of the information. 😊

medium/large and jumbo are the most popular so have the best resale value. maxis are hit or miss.

i only know about chanel, hermes, and bottega veneta - bags i've previously bought and sold.

(Quick off-topic aside: Love your avatar of Andy Murray! I laughed so hard when I first saw that photo of him. I'm a fan. :) Are you a tennis player too?)

yup, I play.

this is such an awesome picture and classic ugly sweater/jumper, I couldn't resist. Murray has an awesome sense of humor.

I agree re: hit and miss of maxi's. My friend has been trying to find a decent price for hers but alas, she can't seem to find a decent and serious buyer.

She IS in alberta, though. Maybe people take that into account when making an offer?

I wonder if it would be easier to sell if she was in toronto, let alone LA/NY...etc

Do you know about Chanel WOCs? I'm currently looking at sellimg mine for 75% of what I paid for it two years ago. Not sure if I should be holding out for more, being that the current retail price is more now.

you can do your research online (check eBay for previously sold items, consignment stores sites, etc) to see what WOCs have sold for - just be mindful of the bags' condition.

I don't sell bags on my own; I use a consignment. My motivation for selling wasn't really to make money - it just so happened that I did so I'm glad - but to get rid of physical and mental clutter by getting rid of stuff I don't use or don't like.
