Oh I’m SO happy that you’ve found jeans that fit..I do know that feeling when you find great jeans…you want you buy about 3 pairs(I know I do lol)…I’m not really a skinny jeans girl either, I like 100% cotton Selvedge jeans, which last far longer than stretch jeans, plus I have no curves to hug anyway..

Congrats on your new jeans!xxxxxxxx
Awww, thanks @cecchetti !! :hugs:I do want to buy 3 more pairs!! I just have to pace myself because they're a bit pricey but maybe I'll find an actual pair in my size at The Real Real at a discount!! Fingers crossed!!

Advice-well fitting jeans are few and far between..when you find them multiple buy, even if pricey..they can be discontinued ..

Good luck at getting some discounted but do try to buy more!xxx

I used to live exclusively in jeans for years but where I’m living atm it’s too hot, although the U.K. still hasn’t warmed up..

My Samurais from 2021 are still in good condition although not a great fit..I’m looking to add a 3sixteen+ or 2, and possibly a J Brand.

I haven’t yet found anything else that works for me..Levi’s are cut too high in the body and too wide in the hips, even in a U.K. 23” and the kids ones done fit, nor the US juniors, even sz 1 is too big..

I’ve had bespoke before..but most of the brands I’ve used don’t exist anymore or only do men’s now..except for Roomten..

Anyone find any jeans that are comparable to J brand?? I live in them (the Maria) and I guess the brand is no more. I wear lots of boots in the fall and winter so sticking with skinny for now. Any replacement recommendations??
Poshmark has quite a few J Brand jeans (nwt and preowned). I saw a pair on there that seem to be the exact style and size of my favorite jeans for a good price NWT. but you never know with jeans. maybe they aren't the exact style. or maybe they are and they still won't fit the same way.

I love good ol' vintage Levis, but it's not easy to find that fits you well. (typical relaxed straight 501 fit)
How DO you find them? The new 501s seem cut larger than normal at the waist (ie. size 24 in everything else, smaller than a size 23 in Levis). And I've yet to find a proper vintage 501.

Do I need to just make my way out to a French re-sale/vintage thrift shop?

Yea, it’s tricky to find one. More you are specific on the color or size, the harder to find the exact one. Vintage shopping requires some kind of “luck” as you probably know- one day, the store owner brought some items including 2-3 pairs of 501 jeans, and you somehow walked in that day and it happened to be your size and your preferred color and fit:coolio:  But that is the charm of vintage shopping. When you find one, the one (!!), it feels so great:panic:!!! Hope you find one soon  I heard that Etsy has a lot of vintage 501 (personally haven’t tried yet), provides measurements too so maybe you can check that out. I have some new (not vtg) Levi’s 501 too, their sizing is quite inconsistent for me- it varies on the washing/color. It is all over the place

Jeans are always so challenging for me. I'm 5'9, 34" inseam, size 26. Think short waisted narrow hips. I shop almost exclusively online and one of my favorite brands is GRLFRND. Also CoH, Mother, SLVRLAKE. Still a challenge. A very stylish friend recently recommended Nili Lotan jeans. Very long, very lightweight soft, supple denim. Perfect slightly loose through the leg. The brands I mentioned seem to be pretty popular since they sell out of my size very quickly, and the styles still seem to favor the straighter or even fuller leg, faded look.

Hi, I've sort of become an expert on buying vintage Levi's on eBay. A lot of guesses before figuring it out. A true vintage is always made in the USA. If it states made in Mexico, etc. they're newer. I'm not familiar with how the newer ones run, but for vintage, I always have to buy larger than my size in modern jeans. I'm currently a size 29 in modern jeans (I'm a US size 6/8-depending on the brand) but with vintage Levi's, I have to buy a men's 33 waist so that it does not dig in and cause 'muffin top'. With men's Levi's, the size is always showing on the tag, which kind of irks me. BUT if I don't want the size showing on the tag, I'll cut it out. I prefer 505's to 501's because I like a zipper closure. With Jrs. sizing vintage Levi's....such as: 9,11,13, etc. I have to buy a 13 in order for it to fit comfortably. I could probably get away with an 11 but I just want to be comfortable. In misses sizes, I'm usually a 10. I find the Jrs. sizing to be smaller in the hips, which I like because I found the misses sizes too loose in the hips for me. So if you are larger in the hips, go for the misses size. It's best to find a seller who offers returns just in case you are not happy. That's my 2cents...hope it was helpful.

i go to OOTD thread to get inspiration from @Antonia ’s denim action shots

Re ‘in jeans,’ not sure if this helps but I recently bought sale premier designer fuller cut straight jeans and slimmer ankle zip jeans (t he latter an upscale riff on my guess jeans from the mid 1980s). Both silhouettes seem to be in style today. One of my favorite pairs of jeans is a pair of everlanes that I purchased in 2018, but of course that model is long discontinued. I also love 3x1 jeans, but they are out of business. Here are the two chanel sale purchases earlier this year; a pair of my 3x1s; and the everlanes. I am not really successful buying jeans on line. Not just be of comfort but also bc I cannot really tell what is right for me unless I try them on with a few things and then take an action shot. Sometimes what I thin works doesn’t, and vice versa

I recently cut off a pair of my DH's levis....they fit in the waist and are kinda loose in the legs. I've been wearing tighter jeans with tops that are mostly kinda long. a loose longer top doesn't work with the loose jeans. I'm having trouble finding tops that are the length of yours in the third pic from the right. I was watching qvc the other day (insomnia) and the model had a long top she had folded under....will maybe try that but don't know if the top would stay put.

Thank you. Feeling is definitely mutual :drinks:

@sdkitty , I have the same issue. This is my favorite dior t shirt size medium (I am a U.S. size 6-8 or EU 38-40) that my tailor took in on both side seams and also hemmed about five inches. I know it’s ridiculous to take in a t shirt, but now it’s the only one I reach for, to the point where i bought a second and am carefully trying to shrink it a bit Before tailoring. (The size small is a bit tight in the shoulder, which is why I buy mediums. I am short 5’2; long in the torso, and relatively thick in the waist for my size, which is also why jeans can be problematic to fit.

ETA: folding over a long top never stays put for me, and I prefer not to tuck in and blouse out bc it adds girth

yes, I have a longer torso and short legs.....I've been looking for a shorter but not clingy tee shirt with a v neck. I actually saw one on qvc that looked right (not that I ever buy anything there). but then the model unfolded it and it was longer. all the ones in the stores I've been in have a higher neck and often have some writing on them....I should maybe give up on wearing the baggy jeans
