What are the "IN" jeans now.

yes, I have a longer torso and short legs.....I've been looking for a shorter but not clingy tee shirt with a v neck. I actually saw one on qvc that looked right (not that I ever buy anything there). but then the model unfolded it and it was longer. all the ones in the stores I've been in have a higher neck and often have some writing on them....I should maybe give up on wearing the baggy jeans
I like the more relaxed jeans, but besides the t shirt, pair them with a short sleeved knit mock turtleneck sweater that likes flat. IMO it’s a younger fresher look that also is reminiscent of Katherine hepburn way back when

Thank you. Feeling is definitely mutual :drinks:

@sdkitty , I have the same issue. This is my favorite dior t shirt size medium (I am a U.S. size 6-8 or EU 38-40) that my tailor took in on both side seams and also hemmed about five inches. I know it’s ridiculous to take in a t shirt, but now it’s the only one I reach for, to the point where i bought a second and am carefully trying to shrink it a bit Before tailoring. (The size small is a bit tight in the shoulder, which is why I buy mediums. I am short 5’2; long in the torso, and relatively thick in the waist for my size, which is also why jeans can be problematic to fit.

ETA: folding over a long top never stays put for me, and I prefer not to tuck in and blouse out bc it adds girth

I found these on Posh for a great price NWT....they seem to be the same as a pair I have....same style name, everything. but look at the strip on the side

i go to OOTD thread to get inspiration from @Antonia ’s denim action shots

Re ‘in jeans,’ not sure if this helps but I recently bought sale premier designer fuller cut straight jeans and slimmer ankle zip jeans (t he latter an upscale riff on my guess jeans from the mid 1980s). Both silhouettes seem to be in style today. One of my favorite pairs of jeans is a pair of everlanes that I purchased in 2018, but of course that model is long discontinued. I also love 3x1 jeans, but they are out of business. Here are the two chanel sale purchases earlier this year; a pair of my 3x1s; and the everlanes. I am not really successful buying jeans on line. Not just be of comfort but also bc I cannot really tell what is right for me unless I try them on with a few things and then take an action shot. Sometimes what I thin works doesn’t, and vice versa

I also used to wear 3x1 but I had to have bespoke, having had a disaster ordering 2 pairs of mtm 23x 34 which were huge on me as they were US sizing.
So a pattern was cut for me, and I had many pairs of bespoke pairs in Japanese denim, and for the summer in a lovely grey Selvedge silk cotton Italian denim, until they went into liquidation ..the new company’s jeans don’t fit me at all, nor did the sister company’s Ernest Sewn nor Paper Denim and Cloth.
They suit you far better!

@880 these seem to be same as my old ones from the measurements posted but not sure about that strip on the outside of the leg. any opinion? it could be slenderizing but takes away from the authentic jeans look?

Cute, but you have a point that it could take away from the authentic denim look.

thank you @cecchetti. I remember earnest sewn too. DH had custom 3x1 bc he needed a different fit re the yoke And rise of the jeans. . 3x1 did custom, MtM, and RTW. I never ventured into MtM or custom. Off the rack was fine for me.

@800
Custom 3x1 were good because of the range of denims, I still have huge envelopes full of swatches from them-double indigo denim, heavyweight denim, black denim, green silk denim, cashmere denim, the list was endless and matched my tiny waist to very long legs to short rise.

It worked perfectly for me..the MTM and RTW didn’t fit me at all..

I’ve had bespoke by Gieves and Hawkes and Timothy Everest in the U.K. but neither do ladies bespoke anymore..

I honestly believe LA has better denim options than NYC, but blue and green in soho has some nice fashion choices.

i found some old pics of 3x1 from when DH used to shop there in 2016 or so. They are inspiring me to search on eBay in case I can find some deadstock in my size. I am not sure vintage Levi’s would work for me. The store was beautiful, and there was a huge workshop where you could watch orders being made. there were many more bolts than my pics show. And tons of threads to choose from, plus buttons, rivets, pocket fabric, etc. . . on the other side of the long work counter, there were a few racks of womens RTW that I would go through. Much less expensive than MtM or custom, but very cute stuff

I’m taking a risk and ordered the Sid Jean from Tibi this morning - I suspect it won’t suit my shape at all. Has anyone tried them?

I’ll be honest, I’ve been down far down a Jean rabbit hole lately. I have been a Paige devotee since 2014 but had a quality issue with a pair recently, and I instead just bought 3 pairs of jeans from madewell - perfect vintage jeans in mid rise. I love how they fit but man sizing is inconsistent as heck!

Oh I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Sid!! I ordered them when they were first released in February but I ordered the petite length and I really wanted them to puddle a little more, as the intended fit. So I returned them and of course they were all sold out back then. I was thinking of going up a size just so they would sit lower on the hips, like they do on the model on the website. I wish I could try them on first before buying them but there are no stores near me. :( Everyone that I've seen them on looks great!! Keep me posted, I'm so curious of your thoughts!!

Oh, and I agree about the Madewell sizing!! Have you tried the B-sides jeans yet? I haven't worn my Lasso jeans out yet (will do this week) but they're currently my favorite jeans! I got the regular Lasso, not the vintage Lasso. The vintage Lasso are reworked Levi's jeans and are more expensive. They're a little too vintage for my liking....but the regular Lasso are amazing! I think they shape is similar to the Sid....where it has a slight bow leg, but not so much that it looks rediculous. Anyway, just had to chime in again.
