I think I am finally happy with my everyday collection. Two years later!
It seems Cartier has control of my wrists whereas Tiffany has a monopoly on my ears and neck.

With a lot of creative budgeting (barely clothes shopped, IKEA hacks galore and no large hand bag purchases) I finally have a small but versatile collection. The only thing missing is a ring for my left hand (Cartier panthere perhaps) and to replace my diamond studs which I will do over the next 5 years. Hopefully VCA and Tiffany Victoria studs are in my future as well, but I am in no rush. 😉

Everyone has been great with advice thank you so much!
Anxiously waiting my last package before my jewelry ban.

I have to say. While my wardrobe needs some TLC, I am happy I didn't waste my money on trendy items. First up is the shoes lol
Out of my indulges, my top 5 is...

1. Pearl studs
2. Love bangle... Or gold or diamond bangle
3. Ballon bleu
4. DBTY
5. Signature piece... I always wear my half eternity from my grandfather and I used to wear my Tiffany Olympian charms daily.
Hopefully I'll have the panthere as my own signature piece one day.

Bumping this thread up -- I love it!

I'm a 24 year old single woman living and working in San Francisco. I'm looking to replace a beloved Michael Kors watch that's about 5 years old now and is starting to show its age. I have some of the staples on this list and so many of you mentioned a "nice" watch. Which brands or styles constitutes a nice watch for a 20-something? I like the Michele and Cartier tank styles (though I believe my true love would be a Cartier BB), though either Cartier would be quite the stretch for my budget right now. That said, the Michele is still expensive, and I've seen on TPF that there are questions over whether a Michele is worth it, hardware-wise, and if it's really just a trendy watch that will go out of style. I'd love your thoughts on these or other brands. TIA!

Gucci, hermes, tiffany or movado. What about the basic cartier tank in stainless? When I graduated college I bought myself a movado. I still have it and remember what an achievement it was. Good luck. That's a wonderful age and working and living in SF is great.

I am 26 living and working in NYC. My top 5 staple jewelry items that I have so far:

1. Rolex Stainless Steel Oyster Perpetual Datejust (law school graduation gift)
2. Mikimoto pearl necklace and stud earring set (college graduation gift)
3. Cartier Yellow Gold Love Bangle
4. Cartier Yellow Gold Live Ring (right hand ring)
5. Tiffany Yellow Gold Diamond by the Yard Necklace

I would love to add a pair of diamond studs which are the epitome of classic jewelry in my opinion. I'd prefer something like 2 tcw so I am hoping to be fortunate enough to gift a pair to myself for my 30th birthday! [emoji7][emoji320]

Some really great advice here. I'll just add one more suggestion: a wow, statement set - or at least a necklace - that you can add to dress up an outfit for an evening event. Maybe a chain with an eye catching pendant, a good pearl set or a chunky gold necklace. Something that instantly raises the oopmph factor of a simple black dress, takes a work suit into evening or maybe even cross over into a black tie event.

A nice TAG watch?

For me the following are the stuff I wish I had during my 20s:
1. A tag watch or movado or maybe a rolex depends on your budget..I love my movado watch though I hate that I have to send it to their main office to have a battery change. Such a hassle..
2: a cartier trinity ring. I love mine to the max. i wish I had it before college.
3. A lot of gold jewelry and less silver. Honestly, those are the age you have to collect more gold. But if you love silver at least get those like tiffany or DY. you get less for silver in general as compared to gold but maybe if its branded it could have some value. (So funny coming from a woman who barely knew anything about tiffany and cartier and the like.

Im already in my 30s and those are the stuff I wish I had 10 years ago. I really couldnt afford it then..

1) pearl studs
2) diamond studs (if you can afford them. if not, just get good fakes)
3) good watch (doesn't have to break the bank, but quality. even seiko is ok)
4) gold link bracelet (not too thin)
5) diamond solitaire necklace (or good fake)
