it's funny because in the last two years, i haven't acquired half of the above suggestions and I am worried... While I do have floating pearls, I have regular pearls and tiny pearl earrings. I also have a long strand you can triple up and knot. My necklace and bracelet don't look like typical pearl though, my grandmother got them from india so it has a very natural look to them. I have a bunch of costume and fake earrings and all that. I have a couple of fun swarvoski and coach jewelry. I succumbed to tiffany silver once I made it into the 20s and made a charm bracelet and got the daisy large key with the diamond, i have a small locket and mini rose gold heart. I have a michele caber diamond watch, I bought myself a tanzanite right hand ring and 1 ctw white sapphire studs to wear at school, and now I just bought a VCA 5 motif bracelet.... I wish I redid the way I bought everything now![]()
I did not buy most of my fine jewellery while in University, but once I left school- found a job that paid well etc..I started to build up my collectionI think it sounds like you have a gorgeous collection - no offence to anyone on here but I don't think a lot of the suggestions are very realistic for the average person in their 20s to afford - what 20 year old has thousands to spend on jewellery - as a college student and for a good few years after I couldn't have dreamt of owning a Love bracelet 1 ct+ diamond studs, diamond tennis bracelets or half the other stuff mentioned!

I fully understand where you are coming from! Many students come out of school with student debt, are looking for jobs etc...I don't think this thread is meant to be a guide for all 20 something's but I think everyone that posted did post what they bought or are buying in their 20's. I know what I post were what I want to collect in my 20's not necessarily what I think everyone should haveIt wasn't intended to be critical of what anyone has - there are some simply stunning collections on here - I just think it is a shame that some people may end up feeling inadequate to whatever degree because they don't have some of the things mentioned. With my suggestions I tried to be mindful that the average twenty something just wants to build up a core collection of affordable staples, maybe saving for one or two special and slightly more expensive pieces. I'm the same as you - I bought all my bags and jewellery after I left university and started earning well and although I'm married I don't have kids yet, don't drive and have to fund a car and luckily have no mortgage... so any spare money gets to go on ME lol![]()
