You may have thought your prom night went badly, but Marche Taylor, a high-school student from Houston, Texas left hers in handcuffs, and not for the reasons you might think. According to the Dallas Morning News,
Madison High's prom took place at the Sugar Land Marriot. But Taylor only got as far as the lobby because when she tried to enter the ballroom an official stopped her. She was told her dress violated a school dress code.
"She shook her head, she was like you are not getting into this prom," said Taylor. "We were arguing back and forth because I wanted to know why I can't get into my prom."
Even after offering to provide more cover, Taylor was still denied access to the final soiree of the school year.
At that point, Taylor said she was furious. After all this was her senior prom. She argued if she couldn't get in, she wanted her money back.
Things got so bad, the next thing she knew, someone had called the police. Officers showed up, handcuffed her and escorted her out.

it's gross and tacky. she's just asking to be objectified. she wasnt arrested for wearing it. she fought back and caused a bit of a scene. she should've known better. there was a dress code. plus, did she not have a mirror? gross. how did her parents let her walk out of the house like that?

Wow totally trashy looking. Gross. I'm betting she tried fighting with them which is why they called the cops. I doubt it was the dress itself but the fact she probably was on the verge of getting violent over the situation.

I wonder exactly what part of the dress code was violated?

No belly showing?

The dress might be tacky and ugly as hell, but really, everything is covered and I'm not a big fan of someone dictated what I choose to wear being appropriate or not.

Tacky. Nasty. Cheap. Trashy. I guess none of the top adjectives for that dress that come to my mind matter, because it was also ILLEGAL according to the school's dress code. And I agree that she wasn't arrested for wearing the *cough* *ahem* dress, but instead because she caused a scene. What a winner.

Regardless of how we feel about dress codes, the Supreme Court has consistently upheld the right of schools to enforce them. I am guessing the student knew she was violating multiple rules and thought she could get away with it because of the occasion. If the prom had been held off school grounds she may have had a legitimate argument, but on school grounds they had every right to enforce their dress code.

they wouldve gave her the option of changing the clothes or put somethin on top after all was just more the belly showing, it wasnt to take her handcuffed and stuff like that. schools should make this clear on a prom celebration before its even planned also.

she tried to cover up to get in but they wouldnt let her.. no matter how bad that dress is.. i dont think that calling the cops was the right thing to do.. i want to know what happened after!!

Well the dress is not what most people would wear or even think of wearing but lol they should just let her attend and there's really no need for the police.

I can totally see her appear on TV shows now (think Ellen Degerenes etc.) to moan about it. This just reminds me of the airline incident.
