Well it finally happened to me..bought a fake LV

Honestly I wouldn't have known if someone didn't point it out to me when I went to sell it myself. Within a few hours of having it up I had a buyer contact me and very gently tell me they felt it was a replica. I was horrified, immediately ended the auction and contacted Carol Diva. Luckily I was still within the time frame for a claim. And actually in the long run I will be better off getting all my money back rather than what I could have sold it for anyway so I was doubly thankfully someone reached out to point it out to me and in a nice way. Still, I felt violated, that someone would deliberately do this, and foolish for not knowing it better. I had seen the wallet in a LV store and really loved the color, it would go with a couple of my bags and then it sold out. So I got it online and when I had it in hand it looked like the same wallet to me. The hardware was weighty, the seams straight, the vernis leather nice and glossy. Damn but they do a good job with the fakes.

I hesitate to add this because I'm going to assume they would have knew this when they received the wallet in person, but I contacted Yoogi's Closet to see if it was something I could sell to them or consign. I sent them the link to the original auction in which I purchased it as well as additional pics of my own. They wrote me back with an offer to purchase it and an offer to consign it. Since the offer was good for 30 days I thought I'd try to sell it first and see what happens, if it didn't sell I would send it on to them.

Ummmm............ it doesn't look like the listing was ended 3 days ago. It was listed on January 9 and has nearly 4 days left until it ends on January 16.

What? Let me go see... yikes, you're right! I thought sure I had ended it. Oh I see what happened now, I thought if you checked the box and hit 'end listing' it was immediately ended. I see now that it takes you to another page where you confirm to end it and I guess in the heat of the moment I just blazed right past that on my way to Carol's website. Good grief this is just one miserable scenario after the next.

So I guess you figured out selling isn't as easy as you think it is? You have been badmouthing resellers for quite some time and arguing endlessly every chance you get.

I hope you can see the other side of the coin now. Hopefully your account won't get limited. I am sure you got dinged for listing a fake though. I see the listing got yanked (I did not report it as this is the first time I had a chance to read the thread). Everyone makes mistakes. Even you.

Pardon me? This is not as if it was my first sale, i have bought and resold for years, not as a business but for items I no longer wanted or needed. Please feel free to check out my feedback as a seller. Most have been on half.com but many have not. If anything it has made me more sympathetic to those that purchase a fake item only to find out when they try to list it. I don't recall coming down hard on these sellers in the past as I know very little about fakes and tend to avoid those threads unless it's an obvious scam.

That was pretty rotten of you to respond in this way noshoepolish. Sticking up for the buyer's point of view and holding sellers to high standards is something I will always do. Please reference to me where I have badmouthed resellers. I treat my buyers as I would want to be treated.

I have no problem with the item being reported, I wish someone had reported the one I bid on before I purchased it. I'm glad that eBay is doing its job, sometimes at least. I hope it will also support my case that I purchased a fake.

The only way I'd buy via eBay is from sellers that I know are reputable. I don't trust anyone. They can list a great authentic LV or other label and pull the switch. I am sorry you put trust and faith in someone that was from France. I'm not sure I understand your logic, they have just as many scammers there, probably more. She owes you a FULL refund no question about it. Like BeenBurned mentioned, she is at FAULT. It's her responsibility to have the handbag checked previously to listing. She was aware that it was fake, that is certain. This action of hers giving you half back is not acceptable and I'd stop contact with her immediately. She isn't worth any further grief. I am so sorry you had this happen and hope it all works out. I have yet to read the entire thread, maybe you have great news. Regardless, let this be a lesson.

Ladies, just a quick update

Ebay refunded me back the money, including the shipping. I sent the bag to ebay to be destroyed.

Thank you for all your support and guiding me in the right direction!

The seller is mad at me bc now she is out of the bag and $$..i showed her pics between a real and a fake bag.

The first giveaway was that the datecode was on a piece of leather fabric sticking out on a side instead of being imprinted into the red material

I know this is a bit late, but this was a good thread for me to read! I'm glad it was resolved! I think I have a fake bag and I don't know what to do with it. :-( Such a headache. :-(
